Analytics to know what kind of diabetes I have

Hello.I was even convinced that I had type 1 diabetes.
Until I went to pick up the strips and the nurse told me that I was type 2 and I played only a boat.Because debut with 42 years.

I was quite surprised. My debut was three months ago, with an fasting glucose of 300 and one A1C of 16.2.Thanks to an intensive insulin and systematic control treatment on my part, today I have collected the analyzes I did two days ago and the A1C went down to 5.9.And glucose levels quite well.

The question is.If there is a type of analytics that I diagnose what type diabetes I have.

Note.I have a normal weight.53kg.157cm

@adrianasanz

Well it is very good that you have dropped the HBA1C to 5.9%.Brilliant

Of course there is blood tests to try to detect diabetes.Even though there are always difficult cases. What I don't understand is that that is told by a nurse and not an endocrine.I don't understand that.

But well there is peptide analysis C, to see your insulin reserves in the pancreas, and the famous gad antibodies and also ia2 q indicate if your body is killing the beta cells of your pancreas, which they are the ones that generate insulin, sinceType 1 diabetes is autimmune. That has to interpret a doctor, if possible endocrine.

All the best

Hello Adriana.
It is not so much your peptide C (which indicates whether your pancreas works, no, or is being exhausted), as if there are antibodies that destroy your beta cells. In that case it is type 1.
In my case, it is like yours, thin and di 15.9 (I think you are the first one that surpasses me) is type 2 because there are no antibodies attacking the pancreas, I have already destroyed it I solita and! Or recognize.
How have you fed in your life? Many hydrates? Many sweets? We have exhausted the pancreas and we are type 2.
Have you eaten normal? So you are likely to have antibodies attacking ...
That they do antibody tests.Don't leave it.He claims, that I guess is nobody, not a doctor, to look at you anyway.
That the treatment is the same but social security covers you much more if you are type; 1 ...

I don't know, I'm not from Madrid, but then insists on the social S..Let them do them, they are faces and you don't have to pay them. And if they insist, that they put you in writing that you are type 2 and reasons ...

@adrianasanz, it seems that it has been the nurse who has taken her own conclusions to give you the strips. It has to be your doctor who tells the nurse the strips you have to give you.
Talk to your doctor and say what happens to you with the strips.

@adrianasanz But is you still your header doctor has not sent you to the endocrine or esq do not have a visit date with him yet?
Let's see what I would have done, it is writing to the center where the strips, bolis needles ... and complain about this Mrs.
Normally those that give strips are usually auxiliary.
It is the same, neither assistant nor nurse are anyone to restrict the strips without a doctor authorizing it.

@adrianasanz now I see that you say that they have not yet sent you to the endo.
Then speak with urgency with your doctor and tell him that please send you to the endocrine.

@adrianasanz I have it from the S.S and visit.
Your claim, even if you have to talk to the inspector, but you have to visit you as soon as possible.
I still imagine that you must have a report when they diagnosed you, there you must put some of your diabetes.
Go to your ambulatory with that role and ask to give you the strips that you need, do not the nurse believe.
How would she live if her pancreas did not work?Ask him that question

The nurse took her own conclusions, which as she debuts with 42 years and I put 12 basal and 2 fast for breakfast and food.I already determined that it was type 2. I explained that I could be on a honeymoon and that it could be lada diabetes (1.5).And she continued that there were only two type 1 and 2. And from there she did not come out.
I have a turn with the doctor this week. And that he certifies so to speak which one I have.
I have dropped the A1C from 16.2 to 5.9.In three months of my debut. Not only has insulin helped, but also controls (glucometer) without the latter would not have been possible.

How strange everything!
In Madrid they send you super fast to specialists since the GP.Before 7 days you have the appointment.
The same header can ask you GAD antibodies and the IAG2, if you want, or the most comfortable thing they usually do that is to be referred to the endocrine.

On your own you can go to the FJD, but they are faces and you have to have a doctor next door to interpret them.

My nurse gives me the sensors, needles and before the glucometer strips, I never dribble anything, followed the guidelines dictated by the endocrine. Moreover, I gave me freestyle strips when the woman could not because they are only for the use of nursing.
When I lived in Toledo if they drunk me, they gave me 600 strips for 6 months and in the health center they told me that with 100 it could happen.I put a complaint, I finished badly with those of the center but they gave me my 600 strips !!!

Of course you should put a complaint but in the book, I do not know where you are but in Andalusia it is that of suggestions and claims. Is that you will have estimated how many strips have to give you for the moment?Another thing is that the endocrine already puts something else.It seems to me a shame what he told you

Is that just three months of the debut.I am familiar with the disease, so to speak.I find the three cans of strips.Without controls is to give blind sticks.Thank you so much
