Hello everyone,

I am new here, after 22 years of diabetes, yesterday they told me that I had non -proliferative diabetic retinopathy. After so many years of diabetes and with regular control, it was something that I knew could happen, although I really had information on the matter. The first reaction was to cry inconsolably, but after the explanations of the ophthalmological and have read on the subject, there is treatment and I want to be positive. They have recommended several laser sessions to treat it.I would like to know if someone is in the same situation and can help me, or someone who has already gone through the laser experience? The ophthalmologist told me that it was quite annoying.
Next week I go to another specialist to have a second opinion on the subject.
The truth that I would very much appreciate your comments, I am quite afraid of this situation

thank you so much!

I am operated on both eyes with laser and intravitreous injections to prevent bleeding. The most important thing is the control of glucose and not make very long efforts. The bothering laser, but you only see lucecitas, it does not hurt, then you are seeing blurred (partly for carrying the dilated pupil)
