Hello @Alejandro_1981 those figures that you give us are very high, apart from the metmorphine, haven't you put any more treatment?Have you not given you some meal guidelines?

With those levels apart from someone who gives you food guidelines you need a good endocrine that puts a treatment in conditions, anyway, I am type I and I do not know if the metmorphine takes effect or what, to see if someone canSay something about this. All the best.

Hello @Alejandro_1981.How they tell you, those levels are very high, at two hours of meals?
Metformin 500, how many per day?

You already know that each person is a world, it will depend on your age (although if you are 39, you are young), previous health status (if there is obesity or other pathology), what you eat and your physical activity.

Make light meals, use the plate rule:
Link

If you are sedentary, start walking.

And he asks to see you an endocrine, analyze you glycosylated hemoglobin and you give more appropriate guidelines to your particular case.

I am not a doctor, so I'm going to refrain from giving an opinion about treatment, but I think you need the specialist to see you.
Thus you go out of doubt and you can indicate doses and actions according to your particular case.

Hi Alejandro, I am understanding that you are just learning that you are diabetic, although because of the levels you are presenting we can deduce that you have a long time to suffer from the disease without knowing it, because you do not reach those levels overnight. As they advise you, it is necessary that you go to an endocrinologist, although with this pandemic to all gives us suspicion to the doctor. It is also important for a nutritionist to design a diet appropriate to your weight, size and lifestyle.I guess you went to a general practitioner and this was the one who prescribed metformin, which in some countries is the first option. However, this drug alone does not miracles. You need to control your diet and have an exercise routine. If you cannot go to the doctor at the moment, make a controlled diet, it does not have to be very different from any healthy person. There is a lot of information on the Internet about diabetic diets, for the moment you could follow such.As a comment: Metformin has the function of making insulin more efficient, in addition to decreasing the amount of glucose that your liver produces, and that your muscles assimilate it better, so the exercise is so important, because if you do not workThe muscles, that glucose will only become fat.Courage, diabetes is a controllable disease, you just have to exercise will.

Have you done analysis?Glycosylated hemoglobin?peptide c?Do you have glucometer?A metformin of 500 a day?As another partner says its greatest function is to reduce insulin resistance, natural or synthetic

The first thing I would have to see is if it is a type 1 diabetes or type 2. It is not clear to me, it seems that as a result of an analytics they have put the metformin, but I am surprised that it is not to do very fat follies, if you are type 2 2, that the blood glucose rises to 400. That on the one hand, and on the other, the metformin is taken every 12 h, after breakfast and after dinner, either whole or average, it usually starts with average every 12 h theFirst week to avoid adverse effects such as flatulence, many gases or diarrhea.I do not know where you are from but in Spain if there is doubt, for the initial study of diabetes or cdo a type 2 diabetes is not controlled with the large number of drugs with those who today have, the family doctor derives you to study the endocrine. And the type 1 always takes the endocrine.

He must go to the doctor since with those high levels it seems strange to me that they have not placed insulin of rapid action to control it.
