Volume hydroxycloroquina since January, in June I am cited for a review to see if this medication is affecting the retina.

Does you take this medication?I would like to know what evidence they should do to me.

@"Javieroftalmologist" to see if you read me :)

Why do you take it? By lupus or some similar rheumatic disease?
I imagine that what they will do will be an eye background with the dilated pupil and that's it, only if something is seen or it is doubtful would make more specific tests such as angiography (they put a contrast in vein and look on a screen) oran Oct (which is like an ocular tac).In both cases, it does not hurt or annoyed.

@meginer, just an eye fund?
M I have operated myopia, astigmatism, I have had vitreous detachment in left eye and in that same eye they have already given laser to remove the encapsulation (dirty lentilla) ... Anyway, I have done everything.I wouldn't have to see me a retinology?Well, in an eye, it looks little.I have always gone to private and I fear that for social security they will not look good, because if the protocol is to make a background of eyes I see it very basic. When I had Vitreo M detachment they made an oct.
I also have a good luck, everything that happens to me affects the eye.Look that things have happened, but I see very well and I do not regret it for the moment.Bad luck I say it because they recipe the hydroxycloroquine and the side effect is that the retina can damage if I could damage the ass because not to the retina: P

I have looked online, if I know I shouldn't and put all this:

^Currently, in daily practice to do this wake up a visual field 10-2, color test and visual acuity, optical coherence tomography, retinography and a multifocal erg^.

In your case it is different women, I thought it was only a basic control to take chloroquine.I imagine that you are diabetic, if you have had vitreous detachment etc and everything that you tell then I will do everything, what you say, campimetria, oct etc.The roll is that, that diabetes can affect the vision according to control and time of evolution, and the potentially tb chloroquine, I imagine that the rheumatologist will have weighed it and will have seen more pros than to take it.

The rheumatology as M prescribed the appointment for the ophthalmologist. It will be a visit to take this medication, nothing to do with being diabetic. In Social Security they make me a retinography once a year and that's it.

I have difficulty with the reception of your consultations again. On my Facebook I rarely see something about you.Hydroxycloroquine produces, in the very long term and in a percentage of patients treated very under a retinopathy that is actually a maculopathy called "in ox eye" for which there is no treatment. It is a serious and invalidant pathology, so the patients treated with hydroxychloroquine are periodically checked looking for this condition. In the exam you have to make a campimetry and an OCT, which are non -invasive tests, and if signs are detected, the treatment is quickly stopped. So it is a serious but very rare side effect

Ana Isabel, in terms of everything that has happened to you in the eye, I understand that the lens have been taken from you to correct myopia. Thus, vitreous detachment and tag laser "dirty lentilla" are almost inherent to the intervention. It is not that everything happened to you.I will try to be aware of the mail.

@"Javieroftalmologist", if I know that everything that has happened to me could have happened yet without operating, well in particular the vitreous detachment since I am a great myopIt happened.I am very happy with the intraocular operation, but by chance I have spent many things in my eyes it seems that it is the most delicate body and now hydrochloroxin .... everything for the eyes .... it is a way of speaking I say it I say itWith humor. At the end of the year I spent 3 months with inflammation of the eyelids at the end M said that it could be for them although in the first visits it was conjunctivitis.
Let's see what they look at in the public hospital, if you don't convince me I will end up going to the private.I don't think they do the oct.
Greetings and thank you very much

The Oct today is a very quick exploration that does not require any effort on the part of the explorer and that supplies a lot of information

I only make me a background of the eyes once a year.
And the Oct has only done it to me once in the private for vitreo detachment and because I asked me to look at me a retinologist and do that test.

Hello.Trust social security, because for important things, when they are needed, they are the best option.I, for comfort in the appointments and not have to be asking for days off at work, I have always thrown private.Until about three years I had a problem because the sixth pair (which is responsible for moving the eye muscle) was paralyzed and I began to see double.I went to the emergency room to the hospital and from that moment they began to see me in ophthalmology at the Marbella hospital.I can't be happier! The same specialist always sees me, who is in charge of being so.They have made me laser because I have been evolving 30 years and retinopathy was a reality. They make me the Oct of Macula and Papila and last week they until they tested for me to check the field of vision because I noticed discomfort since they made me the laser when driving at night.

Hello.Today I have gone to consultation and M has made a normal eye background. He told me that the vision is fine.M They will send an appointment to make me an oct and visual field and that will take because they are delayed. The consultation has been in the hospital that do not have the devices for the tests, what wasted time !!!Could not be more coordinated ????.
And they will also send me an appointment to give me laser yag.I make normal life and he told me to think about it.I am undecided.@"Javieroftalmologist" I have a little the blurred vision that I do not notice if I do not see only with that eye, the ophthalmology M has said that it is my decision and was determined, but now I do not know what to do.
@meginer, make you oct 2 or 3 times?

Ana Isabel, every three or six months they make me an oct, yes, I am Panfotocoagulated for about 15 or 16 years, every time they review me they see everything and especially the macula, since the rest is the other is Panfotoagulated, I have a cystQ goes and goes and that sometimes even disappears.
As for the laser, I do not know what you have to think, if you have an important retinopathy or at risk of going worse, there is no other, I tell you from experience, I have good vision, 0.9-1 in both eyes ifI would not have done, we don't know what would have happened, I'm still young, I'm 47 years old, then I was 32, imagine.Fortunately, I had and I have the best professionals, that of course, they are in the public.

Sorry, I did not remember that your case is different from mine and it is not a diabetic retinopathy, even so, if you have raised it it will be for something. The OCT is a very implanted test and is done daily for many PTES, it is very easy and gives a lot of information, I have not done angiography many years ago.
