Researchers at the University University of Valencia (UPV)-belonging to the group of artificial pancreas and technologies for diabetes (technodiabetes) of the AI2 Institute-have developed new video games and robots to teach children the basic concepts on the management of the management ofdiabetes in a pleasant and fun way.
The last one transports the little ones to a plane trip, in which they can see what happens if they eat too much or very little, if they do more or less exercise or if insulin are injected correctly, they do it too late, ofmore or less.
"Through tools such as robotics or video games, we address key aspects in diabetological education such as the understanding of glucorregulation and the role of insulin in it," said researcher José Luis Diez.
