Diabetic patients in the Southern Health Management Area of Córdoba have since Monday the possibility of receiving direct and individualized care at the Infanta Margarita de Cabra hospital.
The Endocrinology specialist María de la Sierra Corpas Jiménez has joined the optional structure of the reference health center throughout the southern province, thus completing the organization chart of the Diabetes Coordination Unit, spearhead of the coordination program between coordination programPrimary Care and Specialized Assistance in Therapeutic Education for Diabetes patients who have been developing since May of last year.
With the total implementation of this unit, composed of an endocrine doctor and two educational nurses in diabetes, a historical demand of the group of people suffering from this disease is answered.
Displacements of Córdoba will be avoided
The new Diabetes Coordination Unit will be responsible for implementing this system, training patients in their use and performing specialized and individual monitoring.The direct consequences for the population will be, among others, to avoid displacements to the health centers of the Cordoba capital for the application, monitoring and review of treatments, something that will centralize itself in the Infanta Margarita.
