Hello.I am new in the forum, I am 18 years old and I suffer from type 1 diabetes since the 9. One of my favorite hobbies is going to the gym to increase my muscle mass, which I do since the age of 14.My question is whether I can take powdered proteins to overcome myself day by day since I reached a point that costs a lot to increase my muscle mass, or if I can take creatine or other products.Thank you very much

Of course you can take what you say, but don't neglect your diabetes.

@Alvou where you go to buy the protein that tell you which ones that have less carbohydrates and added sugars so that your glycemiah alter, in fact, surely they are already sold 0.0 and creatine, because with 18 years likeI do not think you have any renal or liver problems and you will be like a flower, I don't see the problem, all in its fair measure and if possible with a coach who advises you.

@Alvou
Hello, I have taken before the diabates and now also since I have DM1 a bit of Whey Protein supplement (milk serum), which has. All basic amino acids.But in general very little.If you eat well and take regularly cooked egg, chicken, turkey, fish, cheese, you will probably take the entire protein you need per day.You already know that the average recommendation is about 0.8 gr per kg of weight, but it can be increased (up to 1.5 gr) if you make weights and want to gain muscle mass.There are many people who exceed.Do one thing.Just as you know the carboh that you take up, calculate the gr of proteins that you take in total in a normal day (approximately).Compare it with your needs in your weight and activity.If you have doubts about your needs, consult a specialist, but in the Gym, be careful, there are many people who can badly advise you!And don't even think about taking any pill without a medical advice.In general, try to eat well and few supplements will need you!
With your years, playing sports regularly and eating safe quality protein that you get very strong!
All the best

DM1 desde Marzo 2018 (53 años). 7-10 unidades basal: Abasaglar (insulina glargina). NovoRapid. Factor 1.0/1.5.
Vivo en Alemania. CarboH total dia 70-80 gr. Deporte Gym todos dias L-V 1h-2 h
HbA1c 5,5% (Abril 2022)
