Hello everyone,

After almost 5 months with insulin, I tell you a little how everything goes, a little reflection and the occasional doubt:

-Actually I am with 9 units of Lantus, and apidra only for dinners and meals with hydrates such as paste and rice mainly, so I am trying to extend this as much as possible since a high % of the punctures hurt me: '(Even when I inject the lantus into my legs, there are times that I get a lot of blood (and that I watch there is no vein).

1) In the latest review of the company, waiting for the final evaluation, they advanced that I have signs of Cetona in
urine and blood pressure slightly low.I am practically sure it is due to lack of hydrates, so despite me
Fear of clicking more, maybe I must incorporate more HC in my diet and assume it.The truth is that I have not felt bad
At no time, but I think it is not ideal for the body (due to lack of insulin I do not believe, why the last gly
It was 5.9, so I'm trying to control diabetes the best I can), and from here another topic is closely related to
This, which is the control of sugar levels: visual + few hydrates (I know that is not right, but for me
It has been the easiest method, both at home and outside); Is anyone/ in a similar situation?

2) For about a year, I am doing a lot and I have lost some fat and won a little
of muscle. The question is that I am at a point where I do not know what to do since I am afraid to continue musculating by
Fear of pain to punctures (as I told you, if many times they hurt me (even in the belly), if I keep working
The abdominals and losing the rest of the fat from there, I do not know what will happen: S).So I don't know what to do: s.For example, the
fast I just put it in the belly (rotating one left week and another right; in my arms I have tried but I
has produced enough pain since I have no fat there) and the basal one week in the left leg, another right and another
right gluteus (I don't dare with the left). Is there anyone who is/ has been in a similar situation? One of the
Options I have thought, is to buy shorter needles, but currently at the Cap they are giving me the 5mm and I have
Understood that the smallest are 4, so I do not know if the difference would be much notice (which, by the way, give me very
Few needles, so I change them every two days or even 3 when I should do it in each puncture: |).

3) There are times that I have doubts with the reliability of my glucometer (ACCU-Chek Aviva Connect), so taking advantage of some
day that I have doubted the first result and in which I have left a lot of blood after the puncture, I have
used to make several measurements (for example, a few days ago I did an hour and 45 after the
Dinner) and these results came out -& GT;153, 182, 163, 147;I know there is a margin of error, but it is normal for them to come out
These differences?

-It I'm going to say now I know that it is no use to think about it or obsess, but I would like to reflect out loud (in this case written: d) that I have been thinking for a long time and that it is focused on l@s that you have diabetesType 1 and Lada.
In my case, I have been a rather nervous person since childhood (at the interior level, why on the outside I have always been very quiet), and since 2012 I began to suffer from generalized anxiety disorder (I still have it, although it goes to gusts), soSince the diabetes diagnosed me, I have thought that perhaps, if I had a quieter life or had not had the Tag, I would not have developed diabetes (in my case lada);Obviously with a genetic base behind (of diabetics in my family, only my grandfather has been, but it was type 2 and 65 years old, and then my little brother developed type 1 in 2015 (if applicable it was very fast and my parentsThey related through the marathon of TV3 that year) and apart from my mother who has multiple sclerosis since 2010 (autoimmune disease));So, has anyone thought about me?Did any@ developed diabetes during or after a stress stage?
In my case, I developed the tag by hypochondria (I have always scared me the idea of ceasing to exist forever), so I have long taken care of the food (apart from the fact that we have always eaten well at home, years ago years agoThat as nuts dialryly, black chocolate 99%, I only drink water, etc.), so I had no clear symptoms until they made a periodic review (when they tell yourself you reflect and realize the reason for some things, as inMy case that did not heal the holes in my ear, and why there were gusts that urinated enough although curiously it was always after eating (perhaps why it was the food in which I included more HC)), but hey, life continues and thisIt allows us to value many things that we did not give them so much importance.

Thank you very much to you are going to read and answer me, and a lot of encouragement to everyone!:)

@Rapper

Hello, I am TB I am type 1 lada, and I started less than 2 years ago and the truth the doctors sincerely told me that they do not really know why our autoimmune system attacks the beta cells of the pancreas.A disease, stress ... Hopefully they discover it one day.The case is that once you have it (DM1) there is no solution. You do very well to control yourself (you have a very good HB) and play sports regularly.

Following more or less your topics blocks, I put some suggestions, but keep in mind that they are only my personal experience. And each of us (even if we are 1 and lada) we are quite different.

1) I take about 120 gr of CH a day and I try to be very precise in the Ch.At home everything weight and tb I have a weight at work.Even though I will learn to calculate visually. My "diet" is considered low in CH but not very low as other people do in the forum.Look to see what feels better.I do sports every day from L to V.

2) I use 4mm needles, but I change them in each puncture. You may recycle them for two or three days is why they do so much damage. They do not hurt me and I am thin and I have enough muscle, especially in my legs to make spinning.Keep in mind that needles are designed for a single puncture! But once I get some blood in my thigh. But keep doing sports !!The muscle eats CH and will have insulin much more under control.

3) TB I use accu chek and has given me oscillations of 10 to 20 mg changing finger, never as much as you say.But I use an MCG sensor (Dexcom in my case) and the truth is I control only in blood when I see something strange in the sensor (it usually works very well)

I know that I have not answered all your questions! But I hope it is something useful

A very strong greeting

1) The theme Cetones is normal when you follow a very low diet in HC (normally below 50gr per day).It is something totally normal and that is not at any risk provided there is no lack of insulin. You have to distinguish well between ketosis and ketoacidosis, it has nothing to do with one thing with the other. That there are ketones in blood or urine with a normal glucose (70-120) only indicates that your body is using fats as a main source of energy instead of glucose, it is something totally normal.Search in Google "Lameteoqueviene cetosis vs ketoacidosis" and the first link that comes out explains you in great detail the difference between them.It is written by a medical specialist in low hydrates diets.
2) Each time you reuse a needle, the puncture hurts more because the tip is deteriorated.Maybe the solution is to use them only once.Insist your doctor and give you the ones you need to use them only 1 time. You have the right to it, they cannot deny that. The needles themselves put that they cannot be reused. If they still tell you no, put a complaint in patient care. They cannot force you to reuse needles, it is as if they told you to take a medicine expired.
3) All glucometers have a certain mistake, but it shouldn't be much. All way make sure you are doing the measurement well.Wash your hands well before measuring, many times errors are for that.If you still give you mistakes, call the brand and tell you, it may be defective and in that case they usually give you a new one.
Anyway, the differences you say that it is after dinner, if you have eaten HC the glucose rises and then will come down again. You have to do the checks at some time of fasting without active rapid insulin.

@jldiazdel yes, they are only conjectures, but hopefully one day they discover the reason and especially the final cure.
Regarding sport, yes, I am perfect for both diabetes and anxiety.

1) I believe that my diet is below these 120 gr of HC, although it is not that it makes a diet especially (as the same as my family and I do not cook anything different for me).It is also true that it goes according to the day (if I go out to eat outside, I am not deprived of a pizza or a plate of pasta for example). But in general, it must be around 100 gr.

2) My intention is to ask both, that they give me the 4mm and that give me more needles, why fixed than only 60-65 punctures a month (one fast and one of slow) I do not have enough needles and someI have to reuse them between two and three times.Next week I have to go to give me strips and needles, to see if I get more.By the way, the length of the needles do have to change them by recipe or prescription of the endocrine, right?

3) I think that in general it is quite precise, so despite this, I will continue to trust him.Regarding the sensors, they told me that it was likely that next year they were free through Social Security in Catalonia, so I will wait for time.In case in the end it is not, I will consider buying them since I am interested in having a continuous monitoring (to improve my HBA1C more and learn more about my body and how the levels vary according to what it eats).

@Regina I know, but when I introduce my legs, I have more weekly rotation areas :).

@Yessica_a

1) I know the subject a bit because of the Keto diets, and knowing what as I am almost high, I know that it is due to lack of HC and not due to lack of insulin.Even so, as more than 50 HC per day sure (like these fixed HC daily: 3 fiber toasts of those that weigh little, a bag of sticks between mid -morning and snack, a yogurt and then the rations of food and dinner(That they must be more than 4 insurance ((in general)), so I will talk to my endocrine in case (they have detected it in a review of the work and they told me orally (which I had indications)), and in the conclusionsThe end of the report have not put it, but still, I will be quieter.

2) Yes, next week when I go to Cap I will ask for it and if they do not give them, there will be no choice but to put a complaint in customer service (I do not like to go for the bad, but there is no choice ....).The nurse and the endocrine told me the same, that I complained if they ignored me, and that when the honeymoon passed I would change my recipe (I do not know why they do not already do it xD), although of the 3 times that I haveGone, the first one did give me enough, but the last two, very few.

3) In general I always do it with my hands clean and respecting the schedules, but at night I usually do it 1: 30-45 after dinner (like Ceno very late, I would go to sleep at so many if I had to wait two hours), So surely that is why precision is not the same: s.

Thank you very much for reading and answering!:)
