Hello everyone.I have a type 1 diabetes that I acquired with 47 years, I am currently 56. I used slow toujeo and I was doing quite well.It never exceeds 6.1.In my last review the C Peptide had dropped to 0.70.I get basal 56 units in the morning on an empty stomach and everything was going well. Now I have to get the quick before breakfast and eat, if it is above 150, 2 units. I am putting between 2 units and three before eating and breakfast. The problem I find is that for a month, the basal does not fall from 140, when I have always had it in 100 or less. What can be happening
I don't have much experience!I only put 4 basal and more or less what you say quickly.Accounts what carbohydrates what do you eat for the rapid? And at night?Maybe the problem is that you don't get fast at night. It depends on what commas.A strong protein and fat dinner can cause you a glucose rise at 4 or 5 hours. Each body depends
Another possibility that I have read that some works is that you distribute the basal. One part in the morning and another at night.56 U of Basal Sudden are enough!
DM1 desde Marzo 2018 (53 años). 7-10 unidades basal: Abasaglar (insulina glargina). NovoRapid. Factor 1.0/1.5. Vivo en Alemania. CarboH total dia 70-80 gr. Deporte Gym todos dias L-V 1h-2 h HbA1c 5,5% (Abril 2022) Dexcom G6
Thanks for answering. My endocrine recommended that the dose of the basal rise in 2 units every time, every three days, on an empty stomach was in more than 120 and so I have reached 56. He told me that the basal units depends on each person, he knowsThat I put 56 and so far was going well.It also seemed quite a lot to me.As for what Ceno, well they are not strong dinners but rather lazy.
@Mysterio Your doctor's recommendation is normal. There are two ways to control diabetes, putting a lot of basal and nothing fast but forces to have continuous food control, or adjust the fast to the hydrates of each meal and lower the amount of basal. Ask your doctor if it would not be better to adjust the rapid insulin and reduce the toujeo, since it has finally prescribed it quickly.
I have been 4.5 years of diabetes, peptide C to 0.35;I put 18 or 20 you toujeo at 10:00 p.m. and 3uds from Novorapid in the 3 main meals more or less, depending on the amount of carbohydrates to be ingested. My glyc is 5%.
It is easy to learn to eat for portions and you will have more independence than only with basal insulin.
