I think I read that I read in a book that high temperatures influenced insulin absorption almost how to exercise.
That being exposed to high temperatures can cause insulin to absorb twice as quickly.
Is this true?
Thanks in advance.
Heat affects insulin absorption?

Yes, it is true that heat affects insulin absorption, but not as much as double.
I would say that 25% affects absorption (but not in quantity).
I don't think I can influence even 50 % or 25 %, so if we go to the beach to sunbathe?Do we have to get less insulin?Or if it makes effect faster to have to take something? But then then, right? Why does it only act before?
I have my serious doubts because there are a beach here about 4.5 months and I have never noticed that, another thing is that I moved more.

LinkI think you do not read more than me, if you want I show you documents that tell you that you cannot take many foods and said by official bodies.I can also teach you official documents that said that Lantus insulin was flat and lasted 24 hours and precisely one of those people said it.
I think for what you have put little you can teach me.

LinkWell let's see what everyone who goes to the beach then! What a ballot !!!!!Everyone to take HC but of course how they do?Because if insulin takes effect before, but of course, what insulin do you mean?to the basal?to the bowling? If it is to the bolics that passes, do you have to change the type of HC they take? But of course it is the basal?Ufff What a complication is raised in this post.
But of course we talk about heat or sun?Why is it heat, we all change the routines in summer?According to what you comment, we should do but we would have all safe hypoglycemia !!!Things are read and you have to understand them.

So according to @Mamarvazq, do you have to reduce the basal and the bowling ratio by 25 % with the heat?
It is clear that Jorge is denying that and we cannot tell a person what percentage must be lowered.
It is nonsense to say that it affects 25% and statements of this type can cause problems and serious.
I just searched, here you have the bibliography: Link

This is not mathematics and those statements can cause negative effects.
But we will say that heat affects absorption in this way has noses.

@"Jose332 I would not say that if not.
Previous years I have noticed that I needed less fast insulin in meals and 2 units less slowly, but this year I am the same as in winter.I have gone to the beach, abroad with heat wave and in Madrid Fresquito does not do, but I am with the same units as in March.
It is my experience and I am a passive person who does not play sports.
I would say that in my case the external temperature with the antiquity of diabetes is more related.More years of disease, less sensitive to certain changes.

We cannot say certain statements because this are not mathematics.
Networks and forums are a danger and creating non -real data can be harmful.
It is not a certain rule at all and less give a percentage that more than one person goes to the beach and reduces and provoke a glycemia rise by someone should not be allowed.
Perhaps at all it is a large percentage of times the heat but the activity.

Reading all this thread I have come to the conclusion that heat affects people much more than insulin !!!: p;): d
@jconegar I did not talk about percentages or rules or mathematics.
Each person has a body, a habit of life, a different diabetes, different hormones, etc.
If it is true that with heat "they can" reduce insulin needs, but that "can" do not mean that always and everyone. My endocrine told me and this was other summers, this 2019 is no longer fulfilled and I need the same insulin as in winter.
Literature in favor or against there are a lot in the networks, each who reads what interests and wages to what suits him.It is your responsibility.

@Ruthbia I agree that in diabetes each person is a world and there are effectively people who, due to their genetics or body temperature, at one point the insulin can affect the greater, lesser extent.-
In my case and to give an example and as @jconegar has commented if I am on the beach at 35 degrees and I will eat 5 rations of HC possibly put less insulin but not because of the ambient temperature but because of the activity that I am going to develop inThe beach that I know for sure that my body is going to wear much more.- However, I would never thinkI also know for sure that the absorption of that insulin will multiply x10.-
I have less beach vacation experience / heat with diabetes, but the times I have been, the same thing happened to me.
The beach "wears" a lot and I have to get less insulin, but I have always related it to the activity. That if a Table of SU, that if a game of rackets, that if some waves, a walk, etc.Although the heat has always left me a little "flattened" the truth and I don't get it very well.I get better with the cold.
Las Saunas (short) I liked a gym session, but I have not returned because I am afraid that the heat affects the sensor or it is clear.I did not know that also with the body so hot, you have to be careful to put themselves insulin. Thanks for the info / warning.
Greetings and, as is Friday, good weekend

Good aim as that person has commented all those who go to the sauna before going must reduce basal and ratios of 25% do not forget, we have to read more.

In summer I have sometimes had to lower the doses, but in winter sometimes too.
It doesn't happen to me.Then do you decrease percentages from going up where you get all those things ?????
I love the forum, you know it, but these things cloud my view ... will it be low or up ???(it's a joke)
Greetings to all
It happens to me if I am on the beach and I notice the sun giving me.I have enough more hypoglycemia than during the winter, and I am lying without activity. In fact I asked when I was younger to the endocrine and said it was not possible, but I did notice.
