Hello, I am Carlos, dad of Lourdes, she is insulin -dependent since the age of 11 and today she is 15 years old, she has been insulin bomb for three. My query is that a few months ago every time the infusion set changes, it has high glucose values (more than 300) during the first hours (without ketones), then it tends to fall abruptly and then stabilizes. Can you tell me what the cause can be?thank you!!!

There are many causes, since a lot of time is used to make the change to hormonal issues (it is in growth age right now and there is a hormonal rain).
You also do not indicate the value of your glucose just at the time of change, because if you are already high, do not expect a new "set" to fix that.
And finally, it could be that recently (last months) the insulin needs have varied (due to the growth of their age).
