The riverside cellar delivers the V Prize solidarity to the project "Support for research for the cure of type 1 diabetes"
This Wednesday, June 5, the V for Solidarity of Bodegas Protos Brindis delivery took place, a RSC initiative to recognize the work carried out by non -profit entities in Spain.
On this occasion, the donation of 10,000 euros has fallen to the project "Support for research for the cure of type 1 diabetes" of the Diabetescero NGO, a movement formed by parents of children with diabetes and adults.
Carlos Villar, General Director of Bodegas Protos, said that the objective of solidarity toast is "to return to society part of what we receive from it, and what better way to do it, that through entities that selflessly help others, they are the true heroes and protagonists, "says Villar.
Currently, there are 600,000 people with diabetes in Spain.Of these, 30,000 are under 15 years.The objective of the project is the monitoring and financing for the research of type 1 diabetes.
Today, thanks to donations to the Diabetescero NGO, different lines of research are being followed: knowing the cause of type 1 diabetes and the factors that influence its development;Find new therapies that can correct the immune system and stop the resurrection of beta cells definitively or convert skin cells into cells that produce insulin to be transplanted into people with type 1 diabetes, among others.
This is the fifth year that Bodegas Protos carries out this toast to reward Spanish society for the support that the winery has received since its creation.To this edition, there have been a total of 178 projects, which have received a total of 54,658 votes through the application housed in the official Facebook profile of the winery.
For this special occasion, the ambassador of the V toast solidarity and teacher of ceremonies was the well -known presenter of Telecinco news, Isabel Jiménez.
