The Association of Diabetic Children of Nicaragua (A.P.N.J.D.N) turned 25 years of work in the country.With years of doing this work with the Ministry of Health, in the care and education of children with diabetes, as well as the development of forums and seminars for doctors.
A thousand children and young people with diabetes attended by the Association;As part of the continuous work, they plan the realization of the 16th edition, of the traditional telehalton this next June.
On November 14, 1991, they indicate as International Diabetes Day.In today's world 200 million women live with the disease, of which 350 million adults are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes while, type 1 diabetes is developed and remains without diagnosing in every 2 adults with diabetes.
There are also evidence that indicates it as an epidemic both in countries of economic development and, of recent industrialization.
