The president of Forum Asturias, Cristina Coto, has claimed this Sunday a greater commitment of the Ministry of Health with the Diabetes Patients in the Principality, considering that her "high maximum commitment" with diabetes, "has remained in mere talk".
In a press release Coto has indicated that in Asturias there are more than 100,000 inhabitants that are affected by one of the most common complications of the disease, the diabetic foot. For them it has requested a specific unit and the implementation of uniform protocols in the health service of the Principality of Asturias (Sespa) to inform patients and for their monitoring and improvement of quality of life.
For the president of the Forum it is "worrying" that the Asturian government "repeats two years later" some sheets that contemplate the same requirements for the needles as the previous ones, "which can bring a new remittance of 'low cost' needles."
"The quality of supplies and deepening the well -being of Asturian patients should be guaranteed, also with adequate socio -health coordination," he insisted.
"The Minister of Health must attend the legitimate claims of the sick, family and associations and we will present a battery of initiatives for their defense," said Coto.
