Nearly 3,000 runners have gathered this Sunday in the 2017 edition of the race. Activate for diabetes, Zaragoza! The largest sporting-solidary event on this disease held in Aragon.The Association of Diabetics of Zaragoza (Ade Zaragoza) and the Diabetes Foundation thus interact of the importance of practicing some type of physical activity on a regular basis to prevent type 2 diabetes and improve the control of type 1 and 2 diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes is a disease that suffers more than 120,000 people in Aragon and whose incidence increases day by day due to sedentary lifestyle, overweight and obesity.So much so that it is expected that in 2030 about 17% of the Aragonese can suffer from it, a figure that in absolute terms exceeds 220,000 people in the region.

This year's edition, held at the Zaragoza Water Park, has had the athlete María José Poves as a guest of honor.Poves has read a manifesto in which he has indicated the importance of giving greater visibility to patients with diabetes.In his words, "these types of events not only serve for people with diabetes to retain their illness, but also to demonstrate that diabetes does not imply any limit to practice sports or any other activity."
