Hello,
I wanted to comment that I have been with thyroid problems on imbalances TSh, they tell me that it is subclinical hypothyroidism but I do not feel good.
I have had TSH 6.99 and the Social Security endocrine tells me that I have my TSH does not reach 10 I do not get treatment.
My last analysis has given me 5; 32, that is, I have gone privately, I have made an ultrasound of the thyroid and see me a small nodule that the Social Security has not done to me has only touched my throat withwhich has not seen in depth what I have.
And this private doctor looks at all my analytics and the family history that I have both hypertension and hiccups and what is happening to me when it is not meditated.
And it puts me to treatment 25gr the first week and 50 gr The second as well as a diet since I have gained a lot of weight.
I have not started to take it because I wanted to go to the GP and tell me what I do ... do I take it?or not?
I find myself in a sea of doubts since it is a life medication and I would like to be better treated for social security than by private.
What do you think?
Thank you!

I recommend that you visit the Montse Reus blog.He is a specialist in hypothyroidism in addition to suffering from it, and gives very good recommendations to improve. Also on Instagram publishes many recommendations.
All this that accounts explains it on the blog. She believes that the ranges would have to be reviewed because there are many people in ranges that are considered that they do not need medication but have symptoms, as is your case.It also explains what analytics they should look at you because not only TSH influences, more things should be seen but many endocrine do not. They should also see if it is autoimmune (which is most cases) or not.Autoimmune or hashimoto can be improved with changes in lifestyle and reduce or in some cases eliminate medication. All that tells you Montse on the blog and its social networks.

TSH above 2 implies that your thyroid is not working properly.where are you from?It seems weird that they tell you that it has to be above 10 to medicate, in Spain the fork is much lower and still very high compared to other countries.

@nigiri, here in Spain, my endocrine, (for reasons beyond my will I have had several) have not wanted to medicate and have come to have almost 7 TSH.I've been with variable controls for years.Subclinic hashimotic thyroiditis, they say.

The upper limits as indicated in the analytical leaves is 4.20 and pregnant 3.7 II/ml, but as in everything, in each site it will be a world of different limits. The TSH can vary greatly from one analytical to another.

@Solaria above 2 already have symptoms what happens that in Spain does not want to lower the fork, why but there are requests for this to change.
In my personal case I can tell you that I was diagnosed by hypothyroidism with a TSH of more than 160, you can not imagine how I was, with the diabetes uncontrollated, quite more weight for more reason, moving from the bed cost my life, apparentlyIt seemed that it had a depression ... the thyroid regulates the entire organism.I managed to lower the TSH to 5 but I still found me badly, especially, I couldn't lose weight in any way, until I went down the TSH to 1 and peak I did not start to be again and be me, the theme of the weight I have not managed to recover itAt all, I'm still a little above what I used to be, but at least I feel good physically and encouragement.Few endocrine are in favor of having the TSH below 2, they simply peel it and guide themselves by the fork of the laboratory.
If you don't want to medicate you, there are things you can do to feel better and I can assure you that they work.Something super important is to exercise if it can be daily, I already take it as a medicine.I leave you this podcast to listen to it, I think it can help you.I also recommend looking for info online on the subject. On Facebook there is also a group about hypothyroidism in which you can solve many doubts.
