Positioning of ADM to health technology for people with diabetes in the 21st century
Technology has become an essential tool in the quality of the person with diabetes because it facilitates the care processes and care to obtain good metabolic control and prevent complications.Insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring and the glycemic control flash system have already demonstrated their efficiency.
The Diabetes Madrid Association is mobilized so that all the technologies and treatments that improve the quality of life of people with diabetes of the Community of Madrid that need it are subsidized.Once these are subsidized the advertise so that health technology reaches people with diabetes without distinction of age, sex, place of residence in the Community of Madrid and by level of economic income.
The ADM is mobilized to achieve, step by step, its objectives starting to achieve that technology that by cost-effectivity reaches the largest number of people with diabetes and with greater need in the Community of Madrid.
Positioning of ADM regarding continuous monitoring and flash system
Continuous monitoring and the Flash system are not subsidized in the Community of Madrid.
All people with diabetes, with type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes, should have access to one of these two technologies.
The healthcare professional should indicate to the person with diabetes which technology suits the person with diabetes according to their history in glycemic control, lifestyle and personality. With the objective that those patients in which the use of continuous glucose monitoring allows them to achieve favorable change in the results of their treatments can access health technologies.
