Adolescence represents a challenge in young people. However, this transition becomes difficult if they suffer from diabetes, because they face psychological, emotional, sexual and hormonal changes that make them neglect or abandon their treatment, said the head of the Endocrinology Service of the Juarez Hospital of Mexico (HJM), Jorge Villaseñor Ramírez.
This change makes them rebellious, deny the disease and manifest aggressive behavior as a reaction to stress that causes them to control diabetes, as a consequence, they feed badly and reduce their physical activity.
