Hi Rocio36,
The peaks are glucose climbs after eating.Imagine that parts of 89mg/dl, calculate your dose before eating and eat. When metabolizing food, blood glucose rises, sometimes very little and sometimes much because, either the dose of insulin was not enough or the speed of blood insulin is slower than food absorption.
When you use a glucose meter, you can see your glucose graph with a peak.
At 2 hours we are recommended to be below 180mg/dl.
Lada enero 2015.

In normally the glucose is between 90 and 100 but 2 hours after eating tends to climb to ranges that go between 120 and 180 ... That is a peak ... if it happens from 200, there are problems and you must see a doctorTo make a diagnosis.
