The Diabetes Foundation has presented its new awareness campaign, 'Reta to Diabetes', an initiative that wants to convey the importance of physical exercise in the daily life of patients, so this year several challenges have been launchedsports.

As reported on Wednesday the Diabetes Foundation, the campaign will have three challenges: 'Walking through diabetes to Santiago', 'Rued by diabetes to Mont Blanc' and 'Move for diabetes in Madrid and Barcelona'.All these challenges seek to change the mentality of people with this disease to incorporate physical activity into their daily routine and improve their eating habits.

In this sense, the manager of this foundation, Ana Mateo, explained that "through this campaign we have set out to motivate people with diabetes; we want to raise awareness that there are no barriers with diabetes, you can practice sports and accept new and exciting challenges.In addition, we are convinced that the effort and eagerness to overcome all people who join the different challenges will serve as an example and inspiration for the more than five million people with diabetes. "

In the first challenge, 'walks through diabetes to Santiago', a group of people with type 1 and 2 diabetes has begun a physical training program on a regular and supervised way, which will culminate with the participation of all of them in five stages of the roadfrom Santiago Francés, from June 11 to 16, between Astorga and O 'Cebreiro.

In the second challenge, 'Rued for diabetes at Mont Blanc', a group of patients will participate in September in a six -stage mountain cyclist test in Mont Blanc, which will be added another group of Dutch cyclistsWith diabetes.Before facing this challenge, some of these cyclists have participated from April 28 to 30 in the so-called Bierzo Mini Challenge, a three-stage test of about 50-60 km away, with about 1,000 meters of unevenness.

The third challenge, 'Move for diabetes in Madrid and Barcelona', will take place on November 19 at the 6th race and popular walking through diabetes.To this initiative is added the celebration of the Expodiabetes fair that will take place in parallel to these sports competitions.
