More than a thousand specialists will participate next week in the XXVIII National Congress of the Spanish Diabetes Society that will be held in Barcelona to analyze and discuss the progress and future of this disease, which affects 13.8% of the population, the population,Although half does not know.

The Congress will congregate endocrinologists, educators, family doctors, pediatricians, cardiologists, podians, gynecologists, ophthalmologists and all specialists involved in the complications of diabetes, in addition to researchers who work in search of advances in the knowledge and treatment ofThe disease.
As the organizers have advanced, this time they will address as outstanding issues and among others, the cardiovascular implications of diabetes, an issue that will focus the inaugural conference by Dr. Amanda I. Adler of the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom).
Specialists will also analyze the current situation of research on regeneration and protection of the beta cells of the pancreas, producers of insulin, with a view to better control of the disease and a possible healing.
The impact of diabetes on gonadal or pernicious interconnection between diabetes and obesity, will be other issues provided in Congress, which will also analyze the incidence of type 1 diabetes in pediatric age, as well as the present and futureof the beta cell transplant in the DM1.
