Channel Diabetes has had the possibility to interview him a few hours before his adventure for diabetes.
Question: Good morning Miguel Angel Palomino, what is the project today to be happy?
Answer: The project consists of a walking route throughout Andalusia, from Vera to Portugal, to emphasize compliance with the Comprehensive Diabetes Plan, it is a route that is part of the Quixocan solidarity project, of which I am creator.
Q: What is the plan of the route that plans to carry out?
A: 18 stages to an average of 40 km daily, crossing Andalusia from coast to coast.
Q: What is the message and objective of that route?
A: The message is clear, the entry into force of the Comprehensive Diabetes Plan approved in the Andalusian Parliament, by all parliamentary groups, in October 2015 and has not yet entered into force.
Q: What happens to the Comprehensive Diabetes Plan of Andalusia?
A: Good question. The truth is that it seems that there is always something more important than studying, than approving or at some point there is something more important than spending money.
Q: What support do you have to carry out this mission?
A: I have the support of the Jaén Diabetics Association, which are being mobilized with other associations.Economically it is a self -financed project, nobody brings money to my causes to avoid misunderstandings and suspicions. My routes are solidarity projects and as such I understand them. The money raised through the sale of t -shirts or galas will be destined for diabetological camps.
Q: How can society, the group of people with diabetes, companies and institutions?
A: Sharing my Facebook page "Today it's time to be happy", making a lot of noise and talking a lot about this by any possible means. On my Facebook page, "Today is happy," I publish daily videos, photographs, news, ... all related to the route that I will start on February 25.
Q: How will it be accompanied?
A: With my two wallets adopted, Leia and Kenya.
Q: Where do you sleep, where does it eat, what is your day to day?
A: It is a route in self -sufficiency.I will carry almost everything that I think I will need and will have a limit of ten euros per day, except veterinary expenses, of being necessary. My idea is to start walking at 8 in the morning to be able to be at each point of stop at 4:00 p.m. and thus be able to rest and prepare the next day.I will sleep, I will eat where I can, in the tent that I carry in my backpack.
Q: What links you to diabetes?
A: My friendship with a couple whose daughters are diabetic and I have seen them many times worried, running for the girls for a descent or for many reasons and see that they have had many days in which they have not been happy, hence the name of the name ofThe route and also the illusion of having a better world.
We will follow the advances of Miguel Angel Palomino.Good luck!
