Today I write on behalf of a group that suffers in silence an atrocious discrimination: diabetics. The State excludes us from a multitude of oppositions without giving us any opportunity to demonstrate our aptitude (police, firefighter, prison official ...) and we can only resign ourselves.I have lived with this disease for 15 years and I had already assumed that I would never exercise any of the previous professions, but last week I took an ungrateful surprise ...
As you will know, nothing is more fashionable today than those flying apparatus called drones. They go daily in the news and every day that passes their utility is extended.Although its legal regulation is still very green, the State Air Security Agency (AESA) has already been responsible for excluding the diabetics of its use.Because? The truth is that I do not understand ... but when I was about to present myself to the exam to get the official operator title, I have found that I do not meet the necessary medical requirements because "the applicants with diabetes mellitus that require insulin will bequalified as not suitable. "
Think about it.What does the diabets influence when piloting a drone?
- Its handling is simple.
- They cannot pilot over interurban areas
- They cannot pilot people of people
- They have self -concept systems in case of loss of communication with the pilot.
Where is the risk?
Another new case of flagrant discrimination, which in my opinion does not respond to any logical or practical reason. And after contacting Aesa I have not received a solution or response. That is why I ask your help, to let them know that we are here, that seven out of every hundred Spaniards are diabetic and we do not deserve this discrimination. That we are as "suitable" as anyone and that we are not going to shut up.
Enough of discrimination, for a better future.
I also take the opportunity to encourage anyone who suffers a similar case to contact me.
Greetings.
