Hi, I'm new to the forum, I'm worried and I have questions.
I was detected type 2 diabetes 8 years ago and since then I was taking metformin tomorrow and night and xelevia at noon during that time I kept the daily levels in a fast between 110-140.For personal matters I had to get out of the country and I spent a few months without following the complete treatment since I ended the Xelevia and at some point I could not take metformin either.Upon returning to the country, it was time to make the annual analytics and resulted in 9.8 glyd hemoglobin, glycose in 1000 urine, ketonic body in urine 15 and blood sugar in blood 327. Before the analytics I already had a couple of weeks without taking any medicationSince the doctor wanted to see the analytics first and did not give me a recipe, then a month to see the specialist. In total two months without taking more irregularities in the previous shots to refuse the country. The endocrine proposed me first insulin but I proposed first to deal with another treatment and accept.Today I have a week taking efficib 50/1000mg breakfast and dinner plus prandin 1 mg before each meal. They are more medications than those ever taken and I am eating better and exercising more than ever before but I am fasting and does not fall from 245 mg/dl.My concern is whether I shouldn't have dropped after a week with medications?
He would be grateful for his prompt answers.
I do not know if it has an incidence but I am currently through a stage of extreme psychological stress.
Thanks in advance
Joaquin

@"Jroque" encouragement and patience, I believe that 1 week is very little time to know if the treatment is resulting in, now, have a very clear thing stress directly influences the rates of glycemia and in many cases factor factorType 1 diabete trigger so what has been said, mood, welcome and tries to control stress because stress generates adrenaline and it causes glucose to rise.

Hello @"jroque", you effectively have to wait longer because you have had a disease worsening and medication now makes you the effect.Try to be a bit methodical and see if there is a specific meal that uploads the glucose more than the rest doing a control before and two hours of each meal (although I do not know if they give you enough strips in your ss), and oncedetected you can help your body restricting hydrates a little in that meal until you are normal. For example, if you eat 50 gr of bread at meals, then you lower it at 40gr and if you take a piece of normal fruit, then take it a little smaller and so on until you have more normal values. But take it calmly that you can have for two or three months.

Thank you very much for your recommendations.I will do the controls. The strips are not covered by Social Security for not being insulin dependent, I have to buy them

Hello @"jroque".I was diagnosed with type I seven months ago and in my case, the very strong stress that I had suffered for more than a year triggered everything.Although I still don't know much about the disease, I think you must give a little more time to treatment.I also encourage you to continue with exercise;I do all that I can, I do well and where I notice the most it is precisely at my glucose level in the morning.
Look at how your glucose levels react to the different meals (I, for example, have had to suppress the cheese of dinner because the next day I lifted with higher levels of the normal ones).
My body also took a time to "balance" (in my case with insulin) so patience and much mood!

If you continue with glycosylated above 7, and the oral treatment is not lowered, you need insulin.
