The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products has detected the possibility that the Glucagen Hypokit needle detaches from the syringes.

The AEMPS has alerted the risks of Glucagen Hypokit, a Novo Nordisk medication that is used in emergency cases for those patients with diabetes who use insulin in cases of severe hypoglycemia.

They will proceed to the market withdrawal of all the distributed units of the FS6x872 lot, as well as its return to the laboratory.Glucagon is a natural hormone, which has the opposite effect of insulin in the human organism, that is, it helps the liver to transform glycogen into glucose, so that it is released in the bloodstream, making the level increase the levelof blood sugar.

In this case, the problem is found in the FS6x872 lot of Glucage Hypokit 1 mg powder and solvent for injectable solution, 1 vial+1 preloaded solvent syringe.

And, the AEMPS has detected the possibility that the needle of this drug detaches in a low number of syringes, which would prevent its use.For this reason, it has already ordered, as a precautionary measure, the withdrawal of the market of all the distributed units of this lot, as well as its return to the laboratory by the usual channels.
