On one occasion a friend thought that the name of the group "lives with diabetes" was wrong and that it was "lives without diabetes": no.Nothing more wrong.
There are those who live without diabetes, and it is definitely much better than living with a chronic-degenerative disease that gradually advances to the extent that we leave it and do not fight it properly.
A pleasure has given us that groups of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas have developed strategies to try to live decorously with diabetes, as María Levy de Alba thought when she founded the Mexican Diabetes Federation, and whose objective is that we live with quality oflife.
The university students join a titanic struggle that takes place long ago by the Ministry of Health at all levels-federal and state-by non-governmental organizations and by individuals in order to learn to live with what we call self-callControl, and that is a way of handling our glucose levels properly.
The UAT Tampico researchers have taken good steps in this regard, although what we could consider as a positive action has a “but”: that there are many groups and people who are- we are- working for the same cause, and surely if we join effortsWe would do much more with less expenses.
Some groups are dedicated to promoting education in diabetes but are jealous of their members and do not let someone with novel ideas work: apply in the official and particular field and that has stopped us.
Personally, the radio program “A day” that transmits Radio UAT every Saturday, and that is handled on Wednesdays on UTC radio of the Technical University of Cotopaxi, in Ecuador is a forum that is available to those who require it, and has almost two decades of existence. There are other efforts that are made, but we would like to be aimed at one thing: the control of the main cause of death in the world.
We could say that the present is a call to join efforts, so that the border and Tampico university students, where there are research efforts aimed at the same objective, join their forces with those of Victoria, with us, with whom we are committed toGrant diabetes the importance of and fight its consequences.
It is time to look for us who works for the same and unite efforts, leaving aside the prominence that fills and affects the vast majority.
In this fight we cannot make distinctions or anything like that: you have to join all possible efforts.Especially in the Academic Unit of Law and Social Sciences of the UAT in Victoria we have a research and health research group, dedicated years ago to promote diabetes training and education, directing your efforts to apply them in the population, so that you and youWe can learn and understand the risks of living with diabetes, and having the best possible quality of life that could be.
And this is where the solidarity we talked about making a day, also has a lot to do.We talked about tourism and solidarity;Today, it can and should apply to public health issues, problems that affect thousands, and if we do what we owe, the health authority would more easily have the resources to take care of everyone's health.
And that is its function, but if we put the part that corresponds to us, if we put our talents at the service of others, seeking effective coordination and without prominence, which could well arise from the same Ministry of Health, an inter -institutional group could be made forDiabetes fight.
Who enters the project?A new government comes and with it, we hope these plans are well received.
