In Cali, Valle del Cauca, several children with diabetes do not receive the insulin they need for their survival for several months.A particular case is that of little Vanessa, a child under 11 who must inject insulin between 3 and 6 times a day.

"7 months ago Cafesalud does not give me tirillas, lancetas, insulin, does not give me an appointment for the specialist," said Olga Fernández, mother of the child.

The failures in the provision of the service increase the risk of Vanessa, who is sixth grade, suffers effects on their health that can threaten their life.

"My daughter's life is in danger because those inputs are vital for her and monitoring must be constant."

The girl's drama is repeated in 14 more minors suffering from diabetes, affiliated with different EPS.
