The San Pedro City Council began on Thursday the actions of the Mobile Diabetes Detection Unit, coordinated by the COAHUILA DIF.
From one in the afternoon they began with free attention from the unit, which was installed in the esplanade solidarity until about 7:00 p.m.
Free glucose, weighing shots, glucometers and food advice were offered, within the health care strategy that is carried out at the state level.
"We have a serious problem in Coahuila, seven out of ten people have obesity and probability of developing diabetes ... We have to tell people that they have to take care of," said Juan Francisco González, mayor of San Pedro.
The mayor asked citizens to review the diets of minors, in addition to attending periodic medical reviews to avoid complications.
The Mobile Diabetes detection unit will still remain this Friday in the Lagunera region, will be located on the esplanade of the DIF of San Pedro, during the morning of nine in the morning at two in the afternoon.
However, all people with doubts about health support programs can continue to go to DIF San Pedro, there they will be channeled with general hospital staff.
