In Spain there are some CCAA that with the reference of this program have launched training projects for patients with chronic ailments.Specifically, it was the University of the Basque Country who validated this methodology that, for example, has also put into operation in Andalusia, Castilla y León, Galicia or Asturias.
However, for Fede these initiatives, although very necessary, are still "insufficient" to assist the more than 5 million patients with diabetes in Spain.
The president of Fede considers that "tools such as patient schools that have launched certain CCAA are a good alternative for those who have a chronic pathology diagnosed and, as such, can undergo changes in their treatments and symptoms, before thethat they have to be prepared and trained.
"In this field there must be a serious and equitable plan for everyone and that regardless of where it is resided, we can have alternatives of this type," he adds.
