Is neuropathy ??

Hello!

My case is that I have altered the sensitivity in an area of the back and below the chest that I do not have in the rest of the body, the rubbing of the underwear is annoying, it is like when one burns taking the sun.

I thought it could be due to a contracture that I have quite great in the rhomboid or that I had some vertebra pinzing my nerve but as the weeks went by (almost a month) and I did not happen I told my endocrine and without looking at me or anything told mewhich was diabetic neuropathy for the years of evolution (24 years) and prescribed me gabapentina.

The thing is that I am not sure that my problem is that, for what I have read, it is usually given in the limbs and it is not the case, anyway it is a little scary to medicate without a neurologist, a neurologist,I am a little worried.

Has anyone ever happened to you and if it has to do with sugar?

Thank you.

Well if during these years you have had good diabetes control should not because neuropathy appears. Before alarming more than you are.It is necessary to differentiate pain or discomfort due to contracture or radiation due to insensitivity tendonitis. Also say that contractures, pinching, tendonitis, etc. do not cure alone. Before taking anything, try to do some more conclusive or muscular or nervous test and do not let them diagnose it to the easy "that is for diabetes" because it probably has nothing to do.

Thank you for commenting, I think that without looking, they already tell you that it is neuropathy ... What I have is a sensitivity to touch, if I do not touch or not touch myTRUE.

To thank for answering anything, I am not being able to contribute much. With us it is much easier to diagnose, everything is derived from diabetes and ready, then it is when you want to say and do you not tell me that with good control I will lead a normal and without complications? And because if the non -diabetics also have equal complications that I, because I blame my diabetes? Then there is usually a great silence hahahaha. It can be an irritation of the skin, some allergy, a thousand things.Do not worry more about its fair measure and perform the appropriate tests or visit.

Well yesterday I went to the doctor and he told me that I looked like it because of the contracture anyway they have referred to the neurologist to rule out something worse, it is curious that each doctor tells you a different thing the idea is to go to stay calm/o andYou leave almost more doubts xDDD

It is in a very rare area to be neuropathy, it will be the contracture, surely. It is true that if you have diabetes, it is easier to blame it to that.

Violetalra@, I don't know if you have done any complementary test to know if it is neuropathy, but it is rare that with such a good glycosylated appears.
But there is also treatment for neuropathy and pain.

They haven't tested anything ... Is there evidence to determine it?

If I'm not mistaken, with electromyography it looks, because they see how the nerves conduct stimuli

Hello! A few months ago I started feeling tingling and sensation of punctures on my feet.I went to a neurologist, made a physical test whose result was normal and told me that in 6 months he goes again.Depending on if my physical response remains the same or not, it will ask me for a study that checks if the nerves are harmful (measures the speed of response of the response of thenerves before stimuli ).I would recommend that you go to a specialist and consult for this study.

In my case, the symptoms appear and disappear, now I don't feel anything in particular weeks.
I am very distressed :(

Hello, last summer I was diagnosed with mild neuropathy without any medication for being mild and practically asymptomatic. But the truth is that for weeks I have involuntary movements in different parts of the body when I am at rest for example in the wrist, knee, a foot, head ... like this on several occasions but it always happens at rest.Has anyone happened to him?
I have pending to go to another neurologist because I have gone to me for not having anything serious and tell me that these involuntary movements are for anxiety

Thank you
