Hello.I don't want to lower anyone or be sorry, I just want to vent a little. I have diabetes since 2005, I was 9 years old when they diagnosed me.At first everything seemed easy for me: carbohydrate counting, maintaining glycemia in normal ranges, not eating sugar or high things in carbohydrates, etc.But at 12 I was already tired.Seeing how all my colleagues led a "normal" life and I was the only one with a disease destroyed me, and I never had the opportunity to speak with other diabetic people. My parents and friends encouraged me and everything, but they really don't understand.I hate having to inject insulin 5 times a day.I hate having to measure my glycemia and have increases and low for any reason.I am 20 years old and my control goes lousy, no treatment works well for me, I always have between 50 - 600 and I already have neuropathies.I really don't know what to do :( I try to take care of myself but it doesn't result and it is already affecting me in every aspect.
Patience .. Do not have another one and go to the doctor to see if it is a hormonal change. At 20 there is usually one.... Data truce another 20 years... The next one is around 40. Mine was accompanied by diabetes :( It must be very hard as a child to go through all this.In the end it is like a "lifestyle" that few understand, in my case or my partner and he is a son and diabetic brother for more inri. Much encouragement, you will see how it happens soon and recover your thresholds.
@pearl, welcome to the forum. What insulins do you use? Do you get the fast before me foods? You know the new ones.Basal insulins?Did they talk to you about putting the bomb?

@pearl I debut with 14 years. It is hard is true but to be honest you are the one who has to take everything. Are you watching you any endocrine? The best that anyone knows you and you can put the guidelines to fix that. Try to take care of you, poorly controlled diabetes will bother you more than if you bother having to control it.

Hello, almost all my life I have occupied Lantus as basal and Humalog as fast.About a year ago they changed my Lantus to Levemir, the same dose in the morning.Yes I fast before each meal, but independent of whether I do it or not, my levels always reach 400 post meals ... They are meals of low glycymic index usually (lentils, chickpeas, salads, etc.).Obviously I am not perfect and from time to time the sweet tempts me, but I do not need to eat sweets to reach 500 easily. Use the pump for 3 years and it was chaos for me.First of all, it was not useful to control the glycemia peaks, I was the same and worse than before, I went down to 30 and went to 600 in hours. In addition to how uncomfortable it was for me.I end up taking it out, and now I am with pens of Levemir and Humalog, with the same levels of glycemia.

Hello, with endocrine, do you mean a diabetologist?I have seen all my life.Since childhood I try with doctors and I have seen 4 different to date, none has been able to help me with this issue.

Hello, the truth is that I doubt it is something "hormonal" or with my age since I have these levels since I have memory.I have never had well -controlled diabetes:/
Look at the new basal that cover very well 24 hours.Look at the toujeo or the threeiba, which are put only once a day and replace Lantus. The peaks, if you go up quickly and put it a little earlier, maybe you can avoid them. Try oatmeal at breakfast, which avoids peaks. And we talk about an endocrinologist, a diabetes specialist, who will give you a good treatment. The guidelines and insulin doses have to adjust them yourself, according to the controls before and after meals. The peaks are corrected quickly. I think you need to improve treatment. Ask whatever you want

Hello.I am a diabetic since I was 8 years old, and I have 18 ... I understand that your lack of control is not because of the type of insulin, or hormonal change ... it is lack of control of yours.I went through the same.If you want we talk.My face is: Lau Sympit. All the best

I inject a lot of insulin a day, if I upload the doses before each meal, glycemia lowers me, and if under the dose my glycemia shoots, it is chaos.:/ I currently use 43 of Levemir, wake up with glycemia between 180 and 350. For meals I inject between 10-20 of Humalog and yet I am in 400 after eating. It is as if insulin had no effect on me :(

I have uploaded it to Montones.Glycemia is still high before and after eating.Right now I'm going to have dinner and I have 340 ... I will inject 30 approx and most likely that then I am with the same 340 or more ... the problem I have with raising the doses is that they have told me to inject more than youown weight makes fattening.Does anyone know if that is true?
What a madness what they have told you.If you start believing the nonsense that people say bad we are going ... I have always injected myself a lot, up to 30 or 40 units of Humalog (3 times a day) and I have always been thin.
And I would go down from 300 I would put 15 units of Humalog and after a couple of hours (I don't like to eat at all being high) another 30 for food.

All my doctors have told me.I will try to increase even the doses.
Well, in my 22 years of diabetic I have never told me anything similar.
It is evident that if you click less than you need, the body does not take advantage of all the sugar you eat but all that glucose that you do not absorb, fuck your body.

@pearl I don't want to judge your doctors ... but they tell you that insulin fattens ... is very strong. Please put in the hands of a professional, change endocrine ... You lack insulin on all sides.A professional has to do with you and change the guidelines immediately
For many units that give you a leveir they do not cover you or 12 hours of the day, the lesson is normally put in 2 shots to cover you all day .. Talk to your endocrine or change to threeiba, toujeo etc ...

Everything depends on what you eat, your physical state animals seasons etc, I would recommend that you were another endocrine or doctor and that everything will be changed from the beginning of insulins Diets etc, telling it clear everything you have suffered and your case, the same thing better, the worst thing is to stay still and settle, we encourage

@Pearl I use Levemir but I get dose every 12 hours. At night 4-6 and in the morning 2. I still still in honey. With what you have been telling you like the others, you don't have the doses of insulin well. If you give us more data than you eat versus what you wear, maybe we can help you better. It is essential to deal with a good endocrine or diabetologist. I encourage, really how it is solved.
