Resuscations to dolls, people pretending blindness and many white gowns directing everything. The Plaza de la Virgen was yesterday the scenario chosen to celebrate the X Health Fair, organized as every year by the Valencian Association of Medical Students (AVEM) on the occasion of World Health Day.The event brought together dozens of students who approached, with the help of different "stands", the different diseases to the public.
Galen skills workshops such as suture, first aid or bandages were some of the attractions of the event. As in the resuscitation stand, where a medical student taught that to perform a good resuscitation, the rhythm of "La Macarena" continued with his hands.Or in the stress booth, where if you behaved well when taking it, they gave you a lollipop, even if they would no longer use a pacifier.
"The Fair has one issue every year," explains Victor Vivó, one of the organizers: "This time, the World Health Organization has decided to be diabetes, so we have dedicated a special stand. All this serves to bring health to the population and to learn ».
"We are students of Medicine, Pharmacy or Nutrition who mounted these exhibitors to raise awareness of people about the diseases that are most affecting people," said Mercé Peiró, voluntary of the fair.
Xema F., medical student and organizer, said: «It is a day in which we enjoy both students and the public, bring you closer to contact with the future patient. He puts face to what you are preparing for.
