The Red Cross of Xàbia will carry out awareness activities on type 2 diabetes this Wednesday, April 13 on the occasion of World Health Day, which was held on April 7.An action that takes place throughout the national territory by virtue of an agreement between the NGO and the Diabetes Foundation, entitled "Reaprends, give the good life and make diabetes prevention" on type 2 diabetes.

With this Red Cross campaign and the Diabetes Foundation intend to raise awareness of the Spanish population of the advantages and benefits of ‘relear’ and what it is to give to the ‘good life’.And how, with that relearning, we can make active prevention of type 2 diabetes.

In Spain, more than 13% of the Spanish population has type 2 diabetes (almost 5 million live with it, of which more than 40% still do not know).Diabetes is a metabolic disease, characterized by sugar (glucose) levels in high blood (hyperglycemia), due to insufficient insufficient insulin hormone or defective functioning of it.If it is not properly, you can create very serious complications such as neuropathies, retina, kidney, cardiovascular system, diabetic foot, etc.

For this reason, the Xàbia Red Cross will install a tent to inform about this disease in which it will offer information about it and with specialized personnel will perform diverse tests to detect it.

The stand that will remain open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Marina Alta Square.
