However, only one in four people from Madrid ignores that diabetic retinopathy is the most common complication of diabetes, as can be detached from the first survey on diabetic macular edema, performed to the general population.
Only one in two respondents believe that the loss of vision associated with diabetes impacts on the performance of domestic tasks by these reasons, the Retinaplus+ Foundation has initiated an interactive virtual reality exhibition, for primary and secondary students, with the name "Look at me and discover the exciting world of sugar and diabetes. ”It is an exhibition, which has the collaboration of Bayer, and that can be visited this week in the Caixa Forum of Madrid space.
Ignorance of diabetic retinopathy

As for the impact on the daily life of the loss of vision associated with diabetes, the majority (71%) name the impossibility of driving, or not being able to read or watch television (60%), but only one in two believeswhich impacts the realization of domestic tasks.These data, according to Bayer, make the damage that this problem entails in everyday activities.
