The Group of Citizens (C's) in Parliament has claimed the Cantabria Government for the call for a new contest to award the needles of diabetic patients because, according to the denunciation, those used are used and departed and produce bruises.

The spokesman of Citizens, Rubén Gómez, registered on Wednesday a non -law proposition that will be debated next Monday, December 19, during the celebration of the plenary session.

With this proposition, Citizens wants to evaluate the possibility of dissolving the contractual link with the current needle supply company and asks for the call for a new contest.

The spokesman for citizens intends to modify the award requirements, giving greater priority to the technical part of the economic part, and that the opinion of the patients occurs.

The proposition of the law also includes the promotion of new technologies in the field of treatments, to give priority to younger patients regarding investment, as well as the increase in the number of good practices courses both when it comes to injectingInsulin as in the non -reuse of needles.

Citizens explain in a press release that some 65,000 diabetics have been counted in Cantabria, of which 20 percent is injected insulin.

Gómez has assured that most patients "have manifested against new needles" because "they are bruised, they do not know safely the insulin that are injected and even spoke and come to leave being introduced into the abdomen."

Citizens has criticized that of the two companies that attended the contest, one of them, the one that had been supplying the needles to the patients until then, was valued by the professionals and patients positively, while the one who won was little valued in the parttechnique but more in the economic one.
