How to have alarms with free freestyle?Gluconightwatch

The free freestyle sensor is excellent. The raw data delivered are extraordinarily precise considering that calibration is made in origin. But the data delivered has a "biological antiquity" of approximately 20 minutes over the real blood glucose levels.

This is inevitable, and is something known in all CGM meters since they are based on interstitial fluid measurements.

Therefore, the free freestyle reader is not limited to presenting the sensor data, but based on certain algorithms attempts to make an estimate of the current real value of blood glucose.Abbott has undoubtedly invested a huge amount of resources in medical studies that have led him to develop these algorithms but, as in every mathematical model, the prediction may not coincide exactly with real data. Therefore, although most of the time the data offered is very approximate to the measurement of blood glucose, sometimes it differs significantly.

There are several free freeSyle sensor reading apps using Android smartphones with the ability to read NFC devices. Some of them also make an estimate of the current value of blood glucose from the raw data delivered by the sensor, based on mathematical projections of the trend of the last readings.Again, although they are often approaching blood glucose measurements, sometimes they move away considerably.

It is inevitable that sometimes they may fail, since, for example, if we are uploaded, but at the time of reading we insulin, we are “changing the future”, and analogously if we are down and we eat something.

Therefore, by developing Gluconightwatch, we have chosen to present the last raw reading of the sensor, without pretending to make estimates of how blood glucose has evolved in the last 20 minutes. It seems to us an honest and prudent approach, but it implies that we must have an extra degree of forecast, since in 20 minutes variations of more than 50 mg/dl can occur, and it is the responsibility of each user to adjust the shooting levels ofalarm taking into account this delay.

This application is not approved by ABBOTT and offers no guarantee on the accuracy of the data read of the free freestyle sensor. The data shown may differ from the real blood glucose levels.

Installing this application you agree to use it under your own responsibility.

The data offered by this application should not be used as a criterion to modify your medication.

Always consult with your doctor in case of doubt.

This application does not replace the sensor readings made with the free freestyle reader, or replace blood glucose tests.Use a blood glucose meter to confirm the data offered by this application and obtain your real blood glucose level.

This application shows the data collected by the free freestyle sensor as stored in the sensor itself.Do not carry out any processing, nor any estimate of the current blood glucose value, as does the free freestyle reader.*

For this reason, it is important to consider that the data shown corresponds to the latest reading of the sensor, and being free freeyle a sensor based on measurements of the interstitial fluid, there may be a delay of up to 30 minutes compared to the current level of blood glucose.*

The free freestyle sensor must be activated with the official freestyle reader.

Using gluconightwatch you assume any responsibility for possible damage caused to the free freestyle sensor.[[ERROR-TRANS]] Link

I know one of the creators, it is DT3.It has already been tested in children. The most important thing is that you can configure the alarms and send them to you by SMS, carrying the child the mobile attached to the sensor.
