Fede has asked the new Minister of Health, Social Services and Equality to create multidisciplinary diabetes units in all reference hospitals to be able to have comprehensive care of the disease, and facilitate access to psychosocial care to patients and relatives, especially in the child debut.
Likewise, and on the occasion of the celebration, on November 14, of World Diabetes Day, the organization has requested that diabetological education for the patient and their relatives be guaranteed in all the health centers of the public network so thatPeople with diabetes are able to autonomously control their disease.
In the same way, she has asked the new minister to promote equal access to assistance services, treatments and control technologies regardless of the Autonomous Community where the person with diabetes resides;and that favors the total integration of minors with diabetes in the school environment through a greater training of teachers and the presence of at least one health professional in the centers where children with diabetes study.
Finally, the organization has highlighted the importance of increasing funds for the development of awareness campaigns that promote healthy lifestyles in order to prevent type 2 diabetes and its associated complications.
