What habits reveal in Galicia the statistics of the report published by its foundation?

In Galicia, 15 % of the population surveyed has a high or very high risk of developing diabetes, which means that, one in two with this risk will suffer from the disease.

Of the total population analyzed, 17 % presents obesity and 35 % overweight, which shows that it is important to influence more to modify the lifestyle and promote the practice of physical activity, since 40 % of the population surveyed declares noPerform a minimum of 30 minutes of physical exercise per day.

What programs and activities includes the campaign Diabetes can be prevented?

On the one hand, the possibility that each person, individually and anonymously, can perform the Findrisk test to know the risk of developing diabetes in the next 10 years.

This test, of Finnish origin and validated at European level, gives the opportunity to analyze personal risk without the need for invasive tests.

Once done, and depending on the risk and responses of each individual, we develop a computer program (at www.fundacionndiabetes.org) that allows a series of custom tips for prevention.

At the same time, public events have also been held with the aim of reaching as many people as possible.
