The mayor of the Realejos, Manuel Domínguez, and the Councilor for Disability and Citizen Participation, Sandra Pérez, attended this Friday, September 2, the ceremony of the subsidy that the Social Work of La Caixa grants to the Association for Diabetes de Tenerife(ADT), which has one of its headquarters in the municipality, in the Integral Center for the attention of people with disabilities.

Representatives of both entities signed the documents for which 5,000 euros are allocated from La Caixa for the economic support of different projects focused on the prevention and attention of diabetes throughout the year.

The president of the ADT, Julián Antonio González, thanked the gesture and indicated that “this association will continue to bet fundamentally for the most particular information for those who already suffer and must normalize it following the treatment guidelines, and generalized for the rest of thepopulation, in whom we insist on a series of healthy lifestyle habits focused basically on the correct food and the necessary daily physical exercise ”.

On the part of the social work of La Caixa were present the director of the Office of Realejo Alto, Domingo González, and the commercial manager Édgar García, who expressed "the satisfaction of being able to help in this way."According to Domingo González, “our intention is to continue, as in recent years, listening to the social and cultural groups of the municipality, always supported by the intermediary work of the City of the Realejos, and reach the support lines of this type that are toour scope ”.

Manuel Domínguez thanked "the implication once again from La Caixa in both social and cultural projects of the Realejos, at the end of the year part of its benefits in improving the quality of life of our neighbors."He also affected “the remarkable improvement that has occurred with the recent service provision of the Tenerife Diabetes Association from this municipality, not only bringing their work to the realejeros, but turning their office into a reference for the entire Northern Region”

For Sandra Pérez, “in addition to the outstanding economic contribution of which we have witnessed this Friday, this type of work meetings help to continue strengthening ties between social groups, private entities and public administration, and in tasks such as attention and fightingAgainst diabetes this is an indispensable issue. ”In this sense, he advanced that "at the request of the President of the ADT, from today we begin to work in the World Diabetes Day organization in the Realejos on November 14".
