The general director of the Asturian Institute of Women and Youth Policies, Almudena Cueto, and the mayor of Belmonte de Miranda, Rosa María Rodríguez, will visit the participants in this program on Tuesday, developed by the Diabetics Association of the Principality of Asturias Naranjoof Bulnes (ASDIPAS), in collaboration with the Endocrinology and Nutrition Service of the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA) and the Pediatrics Service of the San Agustín de Aviles Hospital.
This initiative, which will last until August 10 at the Hogar del Council School, has the participation of 40 children and young people between 9 and 16 years, who will receive intensive training in the management of diabetes to improve their control levelsand achieve a higher level of autonomy, while having fun with recreational activities.
In Asturias they have organized to date 28 educational camps of these characteristics to which these types of activities have attended a thousand minors, which include camps, colonies, itinerant camping and work fields, constitutes a good leisure alternative for boys suffering from diabetes.
The Asturian Youth Institute has processed this year the authorization of a total of 27 children's and youthful time activities.
