This week has finished the cycle of educational workshops for patients with diabetes organized at the Integral Health Center (CSI) of Dénia II and taught by the nursing team.During four theoretical-practical sessions, which took place on Fridays in the morning, groups of 10-15 people treated different aspects of diabetes.
To the table with a head, myths and realities in the food, care of the diabetic foot and oral treatment and insulins were the issues that were put on the table for patients and family."The objective has been to provide knowledge and tools that facilitate the patient of the self -control of their illness, and that, in addition, patients interact and share experiences and knowledge about the management of the pathology," explains María Dolores Pérez Estela, nursing coordinator of the nursing of theCSI Dénia.
The existing demand and the satisfactory balance of this experience among diabetic patients will motivate that the workshops be resumed in October, with the preparation of a concrete programming and the possibility of extending to make organizations and groups related to diabetes.
