The Chamber of Deputies Buenos Aires approved the adhesion project to the National Diabetes Law No. 23,753 and its modification 26,914 that recognizes 100 percent in the coverage of medicines and diagnostic reagents.
The president of the Public Health Commission of the Buenos Aires Lower House, Juan de Jesús (FPV), referred to the benefit of the approval of this project and highlighted the work carried out from the Commission in the debate and treatment several projects on this subject, as well as the valuable contribution and struggle of different associations of patients and relatives of people suffering from this disease.
“In Argentina we have 2.5 million people who suffer from this pathology and a large percentage do not know that it can suffer from it.That is why the Health Commission following a criterion that the guide, which is the interest of the patients, discussed and work in different meetings of advisors and deputies which was the best solution for the coverage of the disease, expressing them to the members of the NGOA single commitment: the best quality of life for patients, ”said Jesus.
With this initiative, in addition to equating provincial legislation, the provision of medicines and supplies that must be reviewed every 2 years in order to include pharmacological and technological advances is stipulated.
"These are times of scientific and social advances, and require the maximum possible attention to the needs of people, and the responsibility that the State must assume in front of them to recognize their rights," said the Buenos Aires deputy of the FPV.
