Metabolic syndrome is reflected when the person suffers from several conditions that are not treated, significantly increase the risk of developing diabetes. It should be noted that this syndrome also increases the probability of suffering from heart problems and blood vessels. That is why your treatment normally focuses on healthy changes in lifestyle.

Although the definition of this syndrome can vary between doctors, the patient must generally have three or more of the following characteristics: large waist, triglycerides in high levels, under HDL cholesterol (also known as “good” cholesterol), high blood pressure and glucoseBlood greater than normal, but not high enough to qualify as diabetes. That is why, although both diseases are related, sometimes erroneously they are usually confused as if they were the same.

differentiating elements

High blood glucose is the distinctive signal of diabetes. When a blood sample is obtained after the person has fasting throughout the night and the result ranges between 80 and 100 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dl), then it is said that the level is normal. On the other hand, a measure of blood glucose on an empty stomach of 126 mg/dl or more in two different analyzes is considered diabetes. The range between both measures, that is, between 100 to 125 mg/dl, is considered prediabetes. It should be noted that the level of the blood glucose of people with metabolic syndrome usually falls within the range of prediabetes.

After a diagnosis of metabolic syndrome, the first step of treatment normally implies making lifestyle changes. Many people with this syndrome have excess weight. That is why both reaching and maintaining a healthy weight can make a big difference with respect to reducing the risk of presenting medical problems related to metabolic syndrome.

Likewise, weight loss can also reduce blood pressure, blood glucose and triglyceride levels and waist size. This is important because studies have shown that having a lot of weight around the abdomen increases the risk of developing diabetes, heart disease and other complications of metabolic syndrome. In order to reduce risk, doctors usually recommend a waist less than 88.9 cm for women and less than 101.6 cm for men.

Recommendations

Exercising regularly can help lose weight, in addition to improving some of the medical problems related to metabolic syndrome.A good goal is to do any moderate intensity activity, such as walking fast, swimming or riding a bike, for 30 minutes or more.

Healthy eating is a fundamental component of the treatment of metabolic syndrome. The most important thing is that the patient talks to the doctor or a dietary specialist on the right feeding for his situation.

In general, the two diets that are recommended to people with this syndrome are the Dash diet (food approaches to stop hypertension) and the Mediterranean diet.Like many healthy eating plans, those two diets restrict bad fats for health and focus on fruits, vegetables, fish and whole grains. In addition to weight loss, studies have shown that both diets provide important advantages for those who have components of metabolic syndrome.

It is also important to highlight that those patients who smoke should stop doing so since cigarettes can not only worsen the medical complications of metabolic syndrome but also significantly increase the risk of other diseases and conditions.

It fitsTo point out that when the changes made in the lifestyle are not enough to control the metabolic syndrome, the medications that control both blood pressure and triglycerides and reduce blood glucose can be useful in the treatment of the syndrome.

Good morning ,
I wanted to share with you the final result of all this mess, after a bad diagnosis and inject myself fast and slow insulins for more than three years and take a whopping 12 pills daily.

When the new doctor withdrew the insulin, Panico entered me, but I changed my diet, Forxiga included me and 1/2 metformin twice a day, I retire everything I took and nothing happened, well if my values began to be minimally.

I do not suffer from obesity but if any overweight, because with the new medication and diet, I have lost almost 5 kilos, amazing, my HG, has gone from 9.2 to 6.9, I still do not believe it !!!!

As I was bad medicated, now other issues are controlling me, such as hypertension, kidneys, liver, etc ... now I am in tests, but they insist that I must download a little more weight, I go slowly but I walk there, kilo that I lose, I do not recover it, that for me it is a lot, now I only have 4 or 5 kilos more and that's it.

What worries me is that the bad medication I have had for years, I have produced other conditions, but I will know in a short time.

The summary is that I am happy, but I repeat again, not all doctors are gods, they are wrong and treat everyone in the same way.
I insisted that I did the diet, exercise and I was increasingly fans, they did not believe me, so in the end I had to change doctor and here you have the result.
They must learn to listen, this disease is not manual, much less, each body is a world.

I will continue to inform you, since you have been very helpful in this hard path.
A hug
Happy week to all !!!!!

diagnostico final: sindrome metabolico.
HG: 5.8 OBJETIVO ALCANZADO Y SIN INSULINA !!!!!!!!!! ahora a intentar mantenerse en estos niveles !!!!!!
