Hello,

Autoimmune gastritis is an autoimmune disease, such as type 1 diabetes. The immune system is loaded by parietal stomach cells and summarizing this produces that vitamin B12 is not absorbed well. This gastritis (I think like others) is a known risk factor of stomach cancer and therefore depending on whoever you ask, they recommend gastroscopies every so often (2-3 years).

It is not a complication of diabetes, but it is true that type 1 diabetics are more likely to suffer this autoimmune disease.

Well, in some analysis I have detected the low B12 and after a study I have been diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis.Another for the pack ... send eggs ... I have to click once a month vitamin B12 and in principle nothing more.Nothing to bring any type of diet or anything like that.

Let's see ... the per month's vitamin B12 prick, I don't care much ... but the increase in gastric cancer risk .... watery ... and a lot.It does not have to pass and as they tell me any patient with this ailment has developed cancer in my hospital, but ... Achjona.

Has anyone been diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis?

How do you carry it?

Do you make gastroscopies?

What periodicity?

Thanks and greetings,

@albertot I have read this and I stayed square.I have been doing gastroscopies for years every 3 years I have a lot of acid reflux and they told me that I could have Barres's esophagus and that could be made a carcinogenic, what nobody had told me is that this is autoimmune. And now I have type 1 diabetes and 13 years ago hypothyroidism. To you who and why has it told you that it is autoimmune???

I don't know if it's the same disease @aliciaalicia.

Heatologist has told me that gastritis is autoimmune.I have tested positive for the corresponding antibodies. The other possibility was a bacteria and I don't have it.

I have no discomfort. They have detected it by chance when having the low B12

Do you make any prevention gastroscopy from time to time?

@albertoT now I begin to doubt Siserá the same thing I always have many discomfort in the stomach and I have to take omeprazole every day.And I think I don't have vitamin B12.
For the rest it is all similar to me they watch me esophagus and stomach every 3 years with gastroscopy. And I also had the Helicobacter pílori bacteria.
Quiet with surveillance everything will go well.

Thank you.

@Alícialia causes yours is something different ... Immune gastritis (or pernicious anemia) is characterized in that the immune system is loaded by the parietal cells of the stomach and therefore the B12 is not absorbed well.
Anyway ... I am worried and with a fed up ... but I have enough with one thing, now this too ...

Apparently there are other bacterial gastritis (Helicobacter Pilori that you commented), but those are not autoimmune and we are more likely to develop them than a non -diabetic person

That is why research has to focus on fixing our immune system, not on apparatus.
We are a bomb prone to develop any other autoimmune.

@albertoT I also have hypothyroidism that is also autoimmune and if that were not enough to have autoimmune hepatitis, that's why I got scared of the stomach I thought another one than horror.

@ Susana, don't think about things so unlikely that they will surely never happen.Follow the treatment and reviews and think that everything is going well, because the treatments are advancing and improving the forecasts faster.

Hello good,

Quiet @Susana85.I read a lot and online they paint it very badly, basically that it can move forward until it can become a gastric cancer.I worried a lot.I looked online "Best specialist Digestive System Madrid."After reading a lot I investigated and I said with the one they said was one of the best.I don't remember the name, but I saw that I had a concert with Adeslas and went to see him with the tests of the diagnosis of autoimmune gastritis and the results of gastroscopy.

What came to tell me is "that I was not going to die of that."It is something to control but it is already. He told me "They will spend the years and stop doing the gastroscopies every 2 years" and said "and that will also be a mistake."You have to take not worry.Getting gastroscopy every 2 years (or what they send you depending on how the gastro will be in one phase or another). And this is not to make.

I reassured me.

This year I have failed in Gastro by the pandemic but as soon as I pass it.

I hope everything goes well.A hug

Muuuuchas thanks for your answer Alberto.
Yes, the Internet is horrible, I try not to look but every time I do it I feel fatal after

Well, I'm aware of me notifying me to do gastroscopy.Do you get them?

How long ago did autoimmune gastritis diagnosed you?

I have no symptoms, if I was with gastroenteritis several times less than a month ago, but the doctor told me that the symptom of the GA is difficulty to do the digestion, I felt good, now I am very nervous since I diagnosed this to me this, but I will try to calm myself

And your tb is diabetic, it would not come with that more. When did type 1 diabetes diagnosed you?

All the best! And thank you very much for contextarne, you leave me quieter

Very good,

I am new in the forum and I join this issue since recently GCA have also diagnosed me.

The process has affected me quite psychologically since the digestive doctor informed me a little in that way and the head makes the rest.

I have been diabetic for many years, I am currently 39 and as some comment in the forum, my endoscopy for a slight deficit of the B12.

Endoscopy confirmed the diagnosis of atrophic gastritis, nothing of H. Pilori.
In Digestive I was recommended to carry annual control, maybe there I already scared more ... and I am currently with psychotherapy since I have gotten a lot of anxiety, a lot of anxiety and some symptoms of depression.

I have requested second medical opinion and that they explain better the real risk that I have of becoming something serious (I will have a response shortly)
I currently have some specific discomfort, such as full stomach or gases, nothing excessively annoying but it is a roll.

It has come to me after the year of pandemia, which has been hard, I have passed a very painful shoulder capsulitis and now this.
Psychologically has left me touched and I am trying to recover.

Thanks for reading the billet.

If someone wants to speak or share information I have no problem, I suppose that through the forum you can also send private messages.

Greetings and encouraging everyone.

Hello!!

I am new in the forum. And also recently has diagnosed autoimmune gastritis in addition to type1 diabetes that I debuted only a year ago ...

I am like Nightfall, I am also very short of morality because they have diabetes and then add with other diseases, it is a real stick, and to all these pregnant.(Much encouragement and strength Nightfall !!)

My question is as follows, those who have autoimmune gastritis for a long time, it is a disease that is progressing and notes more and more discomfort, or with the B12 and gastroscopy every time is enough, and a normal life is taken.. It is supposed to be asymptomatic, right?

Greetings

Hi Carmen85,

The first congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you for the spirits.
I tell you a little more in detail the information with my experience, although it cuts, with this topic.

After overwhelming myself a lot for the diagnosis, I decided to consult with another specialist a second opinion (grateful that it is a service provided by the company in which I work)
Of the overwhelmed that I had up to three doctors I have already spoken ...

The first thing they told me is that it is indeed a disease that generally asymptomatic, and is not limiting at all.
It must be controlled by the possible risk that leads to neuroendocrine tumors or stomach cancer. That said, the possibilities are remote but obviously you have to monitor it.If the idea is to happen is to catch it and treat it on time.
There is nothing left but to continue and continue with healthy habits.

I had no symptoms (which is aware) before making me endoscopy, the subsequent tension is the one that has caused me (I think) certain discomfort.
It is nothing very serious, but I felt as a full stomach sensation, diffuse gases or discomfort when digestion.
Now for example I have a couple of days or three that I notice absolutely anything.
In my case I have proven that any tension or stress now affects me especially to the stomach (they also told me that it is normal)

The B12 once a month and periodic analytics to control that there are no other deficits.
As the second specialist in my case told me the endoscopy in one year is to see how the thing is going, but then it is normal to do them every 3 years according to my pathological anatomy report.

Nothing special diet, advisable to influence foods rich in this vitamin such as milk, eggs or red meat.

And I think I don't leave anything, I hope I have clarified something. In any case, to see if any user who takes longer can give us some more light.

Greetings, thanks for your message and encouragement.

Thank you Nightfall for answering the truth that you leave me something quieter, next week I have an appointment with the digestive and it will give me the result of the gastrocopia ... to see what she tells me and I tell you.

Cheer up and hope that everything bad, we have touched us and we don't have any more history ...

A hug!
