The XXVII National Congress of Diabetes will gather at the Euskalduna Palace from Wednesday to 1,500 professionals dedicated to treatment and attention to people suffering from this disease, both at the care level, as well as research: doctors, nurses, dietitians, biologists,engineers etc, as well as representatives of the pharmaceutical industry.

It is the first of the seven congresses of more than 1,000 attendees that will take place this year in Euskalduna.The scientific-sanitary event will take place over three days and will have an economic impact of 2,480,000 euros in the Basque GDP.It will occupy more than 2,000 hotel places in 10 hotels.

The inaugural conference of the Congress will be issued by Dr. Robert E. Ratner, chief scientist and doctor of the 'American Diabetes Association', the largest voluntary health organization in the United States, leader in the fight to stop the progress of the disease.

In the three days, 40 presentations and 48 communications will be exhibited and 250 posters and informative posters will be exhibited in three large areas reserved for this purpose.The Congress will occupy a total of 20 rooms of the palace and will have a large commercial exhibition that will occupy 3,400 square meters.

The Spanish Diabetes Society will present the Congress next Wednesday, day 20, at a press conference that will take place at the Euskalduna Palace at 10:30 am
