A Health Convention, Expo Diabetes 2015, organized by the Puerto Rican Diabetes Association (APD), will be offered next Friday 11 and Saturday 12 with the purpose of educating patients and family members in the control and prevention of diabetes and their complications.
It is a very prevalent disease on the island that, with due treatment, can be effectively controlled.Hence these clinics are so important.Educational talks will be offered as well as cooking and exercises demonstrations, as well as various clinics that help you enjoy a long life in health.
“You will know from how to monitor your health and feed yourself healthily, to how to handle situations of disasters and emergencies.You can participate are fun exercises sessions.You will get the tools to activate your motivation and handle any situation positively.You will learn how to legally protect your rights.You will even go out with new ideas of delicious healthy recipes, ”says Elba Blanes, Executive Director of the APD, in written communication.
He adds that we are all at risk of developing this ailment “but, with education and a positive attitude, we can control it and have an excellent quality of life.In the APD we do not want a port Rico controlled by diabetes, but together to achieve a Puerto Rico in control of this disease and its complications. ”
As indicated, health monitoring do not require fasting so you can have nutritional breakfast, dress comfortable and arrive with the whole family so that "together they learn how to live healthy."
The activity, cost free, will be offered from 9:00 a.m.m.until 5:00 p .M.in the Pedrín Zorrilla Coliseíte in San Juan.
