Lately we are a bit disappointed with daily glucose measurements. My son of recent days has it very high, we turn to the corrective bowling but it does not take effect, it lowers very little. It now moves at levels between 200 and 300, exceeding the latter sometimes.I don't know what to do.I have thought, among other things, upload the dose of Lantus (it is 20 at 10 pm). What do you advise me to do?Every day more muskent with the happy diabetes.
Thank you

The slow unit goes up, and wait two days to see the effect.
As they grow, they need more doses.

Can't you tell the doctor?Maybe the problem is not the basal but is short in the fast to eat.
Eat for portions?
He thinks that it is not always easy to know if it is because of the basal or the fast to eat.Because everything meets.

12 years + diabetes + holidays = very bad combination.
Do not worry: it is totally common and nothing happens for a few days.Upload the doses little by little and be prepared both to lower them when it touches and keep them so or keep up.
Up to 2 total insulin (slow+fast) per kg a day is normal in growth phase.
The doses we handle are now scandal (about 80 a day) if I compare with a couple of years ago.But that is neither good nor bad.It is what he needs now.

When the situation changes or the doctor advises you, he comments here that it is sure to all.

Once discarded that insulin or meter has problems, the most normal thing is that they are changes in magical habits or surprises that will be passed or, in any case, they will go with a unit adjustment up down unit.

Hello, I feel like answering so late, sorry. After visiting the doctor we have changed the habits a bit, that is, the Lantus has uploaded a unit, although the days before making water polo we leave it the same. The most novel thing for us is that we are now clicking two units in mid -morning at school, and it seems that it is doing well, at least until now.
Thanks for everything

Find out about the new Tresiba or Toujeo basal, which last 24 hours.
