Hello,

I am type 2 diabetic, which is injected every day 26 units of slow semagle insulin.Yesterday my header prescribed my older, Rybelsus tablets and I get the insulin units to 24, for fear of hypoglycemia.

Today for the first time, I have taken the 2 medications first thing, a compressed from Rybelsus and I have injected the 24 semi -units.I feel good, and I have not noticed any side effect.

But I don't know if taking the 2 medications at the same time, can hurt me.

What do you think?

Hi, @enriquegarcia

It's great that you feel good after starting the new adjustments in your treatment. The most important thing in these cases is to follow your doctor's instructions, since they adjust the medication considering your specific needs.

On your question, there is no problem in taking Rybelsus (oral semaglutida) and seglee (slow insulin) the same day, since these medications work differently to control type 2 diabetes:

- Semaglee (basal insulin): keep your glucose levels stable throughout the day.

- Rybelsus.

Both medications are compatible and are usually used together in cases like yours to optimize glucose control.Your doctor also reduced the dose of insulin by caution to avoid hypoglycemia, which is a common step when introducing Rybelsus, since it can improve insulin sensitivity.

Some recommendations:

1. Continue monitoring your glucose levels: especially during the first days of this new treatment, since it is when your body is adapting.

2. I was attentive to possible side effects of Rybelsus: although you feel good (which is excellent!), In some cases there may be digestive discomforts such as nausea or diarrhea, which usually disappear over time.

3. Consult your doctor if you have doubts: If at any time you feel discomfort or frequent hypoglycemia notes, do not hesitate to contact your doctor to adjust the doses.

Finally, remember that sharing these experiences in the forum is great, since other members may feel identified and provide more advice.

Keep telling us how the new treatment is doing!

Many encouragement!
