Well, whether it's worth it for the Free readings or not. There are discounts these days and I don't know what to do because it still seems like a waste to me.

Thank you so much!

I only use it when I go to eat with friends or family, when I go to the dentist or get a massage, go to the physiotherapist, etc. and I can't look at my phone. In other situations, with the cell phone alone I shoot.

Still, in those specific moments the peace of mind that the watch gives is worth it.

@Sherpa41 I just want it for those types of situations. When I'm at the gym, for example, when there are guided classes, I'm looking at my phone every now and then. This summer I was at a retreat and obviously people were without their cell phones and I couldn't, obviously.

And does the clock have alarms too?Do you recommend any model? If my phone is Samsung, does the watch also have to be Samsung?

I am a fairly analog person, until recently I didn't even use my cell phone for glucose, only the reader...

The Samsung connects very well with the Samsung, if you only want it for those situations, get the cheapest one even if it is 1, 2 or 3 years old.Even second hand if you see it much cheaper.I have the galaxy 6 and I don't plan to change it for quite a few years.

Of course, for these watches to work, you have to have the cell phone within 5 meters and the cell phone with a Wi-Fi or 4G connection.

Hello,

It's going super well for me.I have Dexcom one+ as a meter, and a Samsung watch and mobile.

It is very convenient to have the blood glucose readings on the watch (as well as trend and delta), and not have to take out your phone every time to check it.I also use the countdown functionality with alarm clock once I have taken my insulin to have a reference and reminder of when I need to start eating.

The watch is also very useful for high or low notifications, having the possibility of vibrating on the wrist in case we are sleeping.

A Bluetooth connection is sufficient (internet on the watch is not necessary), although it is necessary for the phone to have an internet connection to send each measurement. If, for example, we are in an elevator or in an area without coverage, we will only be able to see the readings on our mobile phone. This does not happen in the case of iPhone, since the dexcom meter directly sends measurements to the apple watch, however with Android it has to be configured through a Tracker and we need an internet connection on the mobile.

I understand that in the case of free it should work in a similar way.

I just didn't have any luck, with an OPPO and a Samsung watch it was impossible to configure it to show glucose values, it seems that some systems are not compatible.

But if you can get it, I think it's great to be able to use it whenever you're interested.

Absolutely yes.I have a Samsung phone and two models of Samsung watches: a Galaxy 4 that I bought 3 years ago and a Galaxy 6 that they gave me last year when I bought the phone.

I consider that, if you work, do sports, etc... it is the most comfortable, you turn your wrist and that's it, you already have the glucose reading, with its trend, its graph, etc...

I use it with the Diabox and G-Watch apps but I suppose it can be used with the Libre app, although I haven't bothered much to find out since I don't use it much.

PS: These days I have seen some offers for the Galaxy 7 for less than €120.If not, any model from the Galaxy 4 can work perfectly for you.

You should also keep in mind that to use the Samsung watch, the ideal is to also have the Samsung mobile phone, otherwise it will not work for you.

I have had miband bracelets and now an amazfit gts 2 mini.It does help me a lot because doing sports or sleeping if I wake up, I just have to look at my phone and that's it.Or working the same.

Well, it would be ideal @Nigiri_ and it is not understood that since freestyle is the most used sensor, at least in Spain, if the manufacturer Abbott has not taken into consideration being able to implement connectivity with watches in the app or even take out its own watch to be able to always have the glucose level and trend in view at the touch of the wrist... It is incongruent with the new television advertisement about type 1 diabetes in terms of its early detection.

The problem, in my opinion, is that I encounter a variety of cases. It seems that what works for some is to have a Samsung mobile + Samsung watch and that the sensor is calibrated correctly.

Then there are other cases, that with a Garmin watch (fenix series) and a Samsung mobile it seems to also work, with the freestyle +librelink app following yourself.

But there are also many others who, the sensor stops transmitting data, the diabox app has stopped working, with the freestyle app it does not give you continuous measurement and you have to enter the app to "refresh", those who update their mobile to Android 16 have been bothered by being able to see their blood glucose on their mobile, etc...

As you say, in the end it is an investment and you depend on doing some technological tricks, so that everything goes correctly.

It's comfortable. The key is the Android version of the mobile. The new versions seem to cause problems.

The easiest to configure is Samsung-Samsung.Wristbands involve using auxiliary platforms such as x-drip.

I have it with old Samsung models but I think that with modern versions I couldn't have Diabox. There are other Apps like Glucodata handler that absorb data from LibreLink or LibreLinkUp.

In the end I don't use it, I like the cell phone better because I have to charge the watch every two days and the cell phone does or does, so I pass and only charge one device.

@Sherpa41 a Samsung Watch 5 then would it be good for my Samsung A54?I'm seeing one on Wallapop at a very good price and close to my house and I'm about to get it.

Now they are going for number 8 so number 5 will be about 3 or so years old.

For power it is fine, there are many with the 4 without problems, just make sure that since it is old it does not have a very worn battery.
