Alarms on Free Style 2 sensor

Hello everyone: My wife has been using the Free Style 2 sensor for years and, recognizing that it is a super important advance compared to the aforementioned strips, we found a big flaw that could be easily corrected. The problem is that when the system warns you of a hypo, this warning does not repeat itself if you do not manage to rise above the alarm level.

I give you an example; We have the alarm at 65. Well, the alarm goes off and warns that we are at 63. My wife takes sugar but if the level does not rise above 65 the device does not beep again even though in fact you are at very low levels because you did not recover. This is particularly dangerous when it is a nocturnal hiccup, if you are alone on the street or if for whatever reason you are involved in some activity and you do not realize the situation.

The solution would be very easy to apply by Abbot, it would be enough to set a pre-alarm level that works as before, and a second, lower alarm level that will warn you every 15 minutes if you do not go above the pre-alarm level. So for example.I set the pre at 75, it warns me, I take sugar but I still fall below 65, it warns me again and so on every 15 minutes until it rises above 75. This way we would avoid scares, especially at night.

What do you think?Could we all ask for a solution to this problem?

I chose, to avoid this problem, to install the Zukka app on my iPhone and it repeats the warning every 5 minutes until the hiccups go away.

At first I was watching all the time until I recovered.

But now I set a reminder to let me know and see how I'm doing. If it's still low I'll put it back on again.

You can touch the triangle that appears next to the sugar value when you are low.And by default it is 15 minutes and it sounds just as loud.

This is how I remember to check when the hypoglycemia is not very strong, because in that case I already notice that I am low.

I solve this problem by starting the cell phone stopwatch after having taken the carbohydrates to go back up and I control the time.

If after 15 minutes the sensor shows hypoglycemia, I measure myself with the glucometer before taking HC again (the sensor is a little delayed compared to a capillary).

You can also "anticipate" hiccups by setting the sensor alarm to 75 and act then.If you do not have active rapid insulin in your body, with half a serving or a serving of HC you recover quickly.

If the hiccups happen at night, there is no choice but to stay awake for a while until glucose levels have normalized.

I use Diaboxkotlin which now activates the sensors without using the Abbott app.

It is more complete in evaluations, it has more parameters.
